I just got my filter yesterday and I love it! I was using a CLS filter up until I got the SV220. The tulip nebula is sooo much better with the SV220. I may go mad scientist and try to combine the two.👨🏾🔬

That's great info. Thank You! I'm looking for my first narrowband filter and I'll go ahead with this one.

Nice shots! I have just ordered the SVBony CLS clip in filter and can't wait for it to arrive. One question though. Are you using a stock camera, or an astro-modified camera?

Stock

can you do more comparisons with filters, I just ordered a zwa dual filter to use with my Dwarf 2, can you do a comparison with and without , if you have it.

I would love to but unfortunately I don't have any other filters. I'm just a poor slob trying to learn astrophotography like the rest of us. 😀

Glad you've got yourself a dual band filter seems to perform pretty well to, nice image & look forward to seeing what else you can image using it, clear skies!!

@@whyf16uy I've seen this comment "Gotta love Windows. Do a backup once you get everything running the way you want. Lot's easier to reinstall (which will happen again, believe me). Nice video comparison. I just received my SV220 about a week ago but I live in Central Florida and it's the rainy season here so needless to say I have not had a chance to use it yet. I'm looking forward to it now more than ever thanks to your comparison of the 2 different SVBony filters. Thanks again. Sincerely, Rich Williams Astor, Florida 32102

Yes I wouldn't use the Duo for broadband targets. I was mostly using the CLS to tame the light pollution in my back yard. So I was just comparing the two for that.

Why compare a light pollution filter with a narrowband filter. They are entirely different.
@whyf16uy20 күн бұрын
I guess because they were the only filters I had and I basically showed how different they were.

Can't platesolve with this filter in place. Not enough stars despite playing with exposure and gain settings.. If platesolving without the filter there's no problem. When putting the filter in afterwards Not enough stars are picked up to stack the images. Bit of a chicken egg situation that can't be solved. Can't understand why everyone loves this filter.
@whyf16uy2 ай бұрын
Hmm. what bortle sky are you under? I know I have to increase my exposure time to 5 seconds when I use this filter to platesolve. I always polar align without a filter otherwise it takes forever.
