Huge thanks for such a detailed review! I feel kinda ashamed with that "blue strip" note... especially considering it was the black one which was first, so how did I carry later model's part of instruction to earlier one eludes me :D One note about substitutions - I agree with all of them but I'd like to warn about one: the cockpit piece. Generally, T-70 has its cockpit very elongated and slim. The grey extension you see works in tandem with the cockpit piece to create uniform shape. In black variant, the extension and the cockpit are light bluish grey, hence LBG piece is used. The grey model however... is already grey. So the only option for an extension was going for darker grey. The metallic silver piece seemed to work better with DBG outline and it is why it was used. So if you go for LBG cockpit that extension will probably not match too well. You can also further reducing the floppiness in closed state by turning the knob a bit more, that's a property worm gears have: they can be quite smoothly tightened. They also have another property: they work only one way. So you cannot open/close the wings without the knob, you will inevitably break something. Warranty voids if you open them manually! :D Regarding 2x6 wedges on the nose: yeah I was thinking about that, but ultimately decided against because they were showing on the other side on top 3/4 view, breaking the smooth line of the nose. It is a trivial change though so if anyone prefers it, go for it!

Hey @jerac, thanks for watching... always a special privilege to have feedback from the designer themselves :) I see what you are going for on the cockpit now. Honestly I debated on whether to include that note at all, because the photo on the front of the instructions for the blue version has (from what I can tell) the less expensive light bluish gray canopy. So, I thought the parts list had an error but then the video from Brick Vault had the rivet pattern canopy. So, I tried to keep it neutral and look at it only from a cost standpoint, and I admittedly cut a lot of color commentary about why I was confused since the review was already really long. Thank you for clarifying!

@@brickcats Yeeeah there were so many redesigns to this design that no wonder BV eventually got confused and used wrong one. This was a seriously difficult build :D
