I have had a tarter for several years, we have a hard time with the automatic head catch releasing outward when releasing the cattle.

I thought it was supposed to open outward when releasing the cattle and opens inward to catch them

I just bought a new cattle Chute just like this and I'm having a problem when I open the shoot to let the cow out it opens up really far or should I say really wide, but when I'm opening up to set it they only want to swing in just a little bit, what am I doing wrong is there some other lever I need to push in order to get it to swing back further

Would you recommend this chute? I'm looking at buying one and can't decide between auto catch or manual
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
Yes I would andthe autocatch for me is a must because I do most of it all by myself

Smalltown Farmer88 yeah the one I'm looking at is a little over 1800. I'm just worried about getting a bull through it. Did you work your bull in it?
@Theblindfarmer5 жыл бұрын
No but I did put 1700 pound cows through it my bulls are so gentle I can do about anything I need to out in the open

Looks pretty slick! I don't have enough cattle to justify one, but it would be really nice on day!

I will give you a little piece of advice that I have learned it’s better to have a facility to work cattle no matter the number of cows because it won’t take long to pay for its self just by Dave g a cow or two also when you have a good set up you will be more likely to work cattle and take better care of them I’ve been on both sides of it I never want to go back to roping cattle and trying to half ass it lol so I always say if you can afford it go ahead and get it you will never regret it

Smalltown Farmer88 That makes sense, thanks for the advice man! I'll keep my eyes out for a good cheap ised one.

Denny's Country Life watch out for a used one. Also you can buy the head gate by itself and mount to a couple post and use gates on either side to catch. I actually had my chute built many years ago and it has got me by but I am going to upgrade in the near future.

Thanks SF88! I hadn't figured that technique out yet to get the butt gate to stay up without a second person holding it up to release the pin. I'm going to try that today.
