DTB has actually quit his channel. He's no longer making Review videos and is now focusing on starting a beard care company of his own, coming Feb '23. He's making a new channel for the company and leaving DTB up for archive views. That's why he hasn't actually been making new videos recently if anyone has noticed.

Just an example, I've grown super slow doing things my way and not buddying up with other creators therefore getting their subs, and have grown to almost 1000 subs with a cell phone and a screenshot. The quality of what you see and hear can be amazing but if noone is there to see it ........ Again I get it I come off as this or that , but I'm only speaking the truth in my opinion. He can do so much more and get more ppl interested in him as a person and get true growth. The smoke and mirrors part of it hasn't worked for him. I do have a question. How many views do you expect from a channel with 2k subs? I'd only expect like 100-200 on average based on what I've seen over the years. That might be a tad too generous. Scuba has well over 200k subs. Obviously, Scuba has some bangers but I've seen plenty of views of like 4 or 5k. Which is still a lot but for over 200k subs? At least you would think. I think we might have a misconception on how many views channels should get based the sub count. What's your take on that?
@kentuckybeardsman2 жыл бұрын
Honestly there isn't a set amount I feel less than ten percent is very low though. I feel every channel that's not changing and doing the same thing every video will never grow and will never get better numbers. I get it numbers aren't everything, but they are signs of growth. Also, they are a great sign that your subscriber base is interested in your content. Take Daniels channel, he is getting around 5-8% returns of his sub base That's 90 something percent that's not watching. Yes some move on from the beard thing so take 20% away from that 90. It's still 70% of people that walked away from his channel due to, well whatever the issue is.
@lumpvision57462 жыл бұрын
@@kentuckybeardsman it makes sense when you say that 70% his audience walked away. I'm just going off of what you said because I don't care to dig into that. Generally speaking, subs and views aren't even close and subs alone don't mean a whole lot based on what I have seen. Even for me. Most of my viewers are not subscribers. It's a weird game with a lot of gray area for views. Sometimes you hit the lottery but most times you don't! Either way, you gotta play to win. When I say play to win, I mean just keep dropping content!

Not super familiar with his channel I don't watch many reviewers or reviews, I find many of them to be disingenuous. I am friends with multiple owners of beard care companies, and sometimes I'll watch reviews of their products to show support but I don't get caught up in any of the drama I have too much going on to participate in that. I do however enjoy your channel because you are sincere with your reviews and that is quality content, I kinda care less about high quality video or clever editing, I know some people are into it but its not a priority for me. Anyway I'm just rambling at this point, much love and respect brotha.

It depends on how the person wants to look at it and also how they take it. If they watch the video then read the comments (which the more the better especially the honest and blunt ones) the more the channel can see what others think and want to see. I've got a rep of being blunt, asshole, and whatever else you can name me. Lol. It's due to being honest and truthful with people. Some like it and some don't. Some like to see others just follow them and support them even if they are lying

I was a supporter at one time, but then some drama happened and I just left so that I wasn’t involved. Daniel has been polite to me and occasionally comments on my videos which is always nice. Nowadays I’ll watch one of his videos if the title grabs my attention or he is reviewing something I’m interested in. To be honest it’s hard to subscribe to many channels and only a few of them return the favor. So I tend to support the little guys more so than the big guys.

I watched a few of his videos and they're nothing I haven't seen before. I can definitely see the similarities to Dan C. Besides doing my own thing, I watch reviews from reviewers I like when I get a chance. I don't need to see ten different reviewers telling me how to use beard oil or the differences between oil, butter, and balm. I prefer originality when it comes to content since I get enough ear fulls of repetitive bullshit at work.
@alteschky54352 жыл бұрын
Early on I watched him I figured ok a blue collar guy like myself I asked him a question about wearing balm at work and he gave me the exact answer from a Dan C video instead of just answering with His honest opinion. I will always consider advice but I’m still going to make my own decision, and if balm creates a protective coating on your beard to keep out hydraulic oil or bar oil from a chainsaw common sense tells me to wear it and not listen to a teacher who sits behind a desk. Great video Bro keep rolling em out!👍🤘

Daniel likes to take what he hears from Dan and repeat it. I’ve noticed that a lot too. He gives the same answer word for word. He’ll even make videos and his opinion will be the same as dans lol. Like if Daniel makes a video about how beard oil works or what balm does… it should have copywrite all over it because it’ll be the exact same answer that dan has previously said lol. I think Daniel takes what Dan says and makes his own video about it and pretends he has knowledge. Dan could make a video about gorilla ass hair is good for beards and daniel would come out with a video on “why gorillas ass hair is good for beards” 😂

I've honestly referred to him as a care salesman many times. Lol. He actually is just that a salesman, not a reviewer. Now Daniel is just a carbon copy of Dan minus the good salesman part. He used to be a cool kid honestly. It's sad it sold out to the numbers game.

Usually if I’m subbed to other beard tubers it’s to get different views on products and scents. Like you say about Dan. He recommends mint and citrus scents and i don’t prefer those really. Daniel had good videos on the bearded Mack and he actually put me on Js beard essentials. Idk the back ground info but i am subbed to him. I don’t watch every video tho.

Yeah like I said he has a lot of great variety as far as companies and stuff goes. By no means is this video to take anyone away from his channel or bash him. It's here to let him see the things that can make his stuff better. Also when others comment he can see it's not just me with those cons to give. He does really well with bigger companies outside of the beard world and his channel would take off if he just focused more on that IMHO

I watched a few of his videos early on in my beard journey. I wasn't overly impressed. His production quality appears to have improved over the years but his content is lacking. I agree, his beard knowledge doesn't seem on the level of other reviewers. Regarding Dan C cloning in general, this seems like a loosing proposition because many are not as smooth as Dan C and do not put out the number of videos like Dan C does so most would just watch Dan C rather than a clone. The monotone laid back review style doesn't really work for me.
@kentuckybeardsman2 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure as far as the I guess we'll call it copying dancy style it's purposeless honestly because then see is Dan C and no one else is going to be able to copy that. Now he's shut down his channel and going to start a beard company so that's going to be interesting because most reviewers that go to a company find out the hard way it's not that easy and all those friends he had while he was a reviewer those company friends that he had aren't going to support him the same way because now he is the competition
