The most amazing percussion ensemble piece I've seen and heard was "War Games" for Extended Percussion and Pro Wrestlers by Walter Mays. I saw the first performance when I was a student At Wichita State back in 1981. Totally worked. I believe it has been filmed since then.

Just took my iPad out on the street and found on KZbin the tracks lying around. You know, like , I will give it a go, thanks for heads up Dave., so far impressed. Ps now I know what the USA means by third coast.

The last concert I saw before the lock down in 2020 included the world premier performance of JLin's Perspective. I'm a huge fan of both Third Coast Percussion and JLin so it was a great experience for me. At the same concert, they did an second performance of a collaboration with a weaver from Black Mountain College. They used her weaving design notation as music notation.

I love `Hook` by Graham Fitkin also `Veni, Veni Emmanuel` by James Macmillan. Just started to listen to the album and it's great.

I remember being in a Percussion Ensemble playing Toccata for Percussion by Carlos Chavez. It was a Rip Snorter of a piece. It was short in duration but nevertheless impactfull

I am big fan of Jlin 2017 Black Origami album so this actually was on my radar before I saw your review. I actually liked Perspective piece the least but I loved the other four. This definitely made my list of Top 10 Contemp Instrumental albums of the year.

TCP is the best thing that happened to percussion since Kroumata.
