I really want this knife but I'm bummed about the lack of reverse flick. I've acquired too many flipper only recently and need to get back to multi deployment or at least my favorite which is the spidey. It's a nice knife and great price for US maker.

The titanium scales are incredible looking. I had an atom but it came out of my pocket while I was out on a wildfire strike team. The clip on mine had pretty loose retention. I was definitely sad to see it go

TRM is the one company I will buy every knife from at some point. I don’t currently own any but their look and performance is exactly what I want out of a knife. Plus they are excellent examples of USA manufacturing with a reasonable price point. Nothing to dislike about these guys. That Atom is just a pure work of art

Wonderful video. Kinda funny timing since over the last 2 weeks I have gotten an Atom and Neutron 2. I have a lot of thoughts to share, but I will try to keep it short.... the Ti scales on this one are amazing looking. I have 3 sets of scales for my Atom... flat g10 and micarta, and then a contoured textured g10... and I'm not mega impressed with any of them--they all run thinner than the Ti from what I can tell, and while thin is kind of a pro, with having larger hands they don't feel super substantiation. Hard to tell on the video, but to my eye the contoured g10 look to be maybe 2/3rds or even 1/2of the thickness and I wish they just had a bit more to them. So I can't help but be slightly bummed, but that hasn't prevented me from becoming near obsessed with these knives, haha. I think if they were going to go with this o ring setup for the studs, they should have really included them... they are borderline necessary if you are a fidgeter. Can't speak to the Ti, but with the other scales you can definitely put the o-rings on the opposite stud and it doesn't interfere with the closing or detent, and its pretty much the only way to get the reverse flick. I feel like I hit it 70-80% of the time now. The Atom is certainly the most beautiful, but I think the Neutron is probably the better EDC option. Still just big enough to get a nice full hand grip, but it straight up disappears in the pocket and isn't scary to none knife people. Keep up the great vids! P.S. I failed to keep it short :P

Oh so the other scales are thinner than these titanium ones? Interesting! Well I’m glad, I don’t think I’d really want it much thinner than it is right now. It’s cool that you can so easily replace them though. Maybe I’d get a pair of micarta scales to pop on, for when I want the knife to be lighter. Maybe for when I’m wearing shorts or going hiking or something. Cool options. So all the scales work with this titanium version right? They’re all nested?

@@doodysdaggers yeah based on the sets that I have, the all do seem thinner, but yeah genius design on their part to make them so easily swapable. Yeah, they are all nested, and I got to say the all fit absolutely perfectly. TRM has amazing tolerances from what I've experienced. Disassembly of the knife in total isn't too bad either--the 3 standoffs in the back are a little fiddly with tiny t6 screws, and the stop pin is very thin and really only stays in places due to very precision fitting, but if it were to slide out from the liner and fall on the carpet or something I can see it being a nightmare to find.

On my Must-Buy list. But, for that exact model. The smooth Ti version is nice, but that milling puts its over the edge into awesome category. A ridiculous expensive cousin of the Atom is the Grimsmo Rask. Not sure the Rask is worth 3X$, other than from an investment standpoint. Love the Atom

Absolutely man, you need one of these. Without a doubt. I’m interested in the Rask too. It does seem a bit pricey, but if you watch his videos on the machining and time that goes into them, it makes more sense. He’s achieving true flatness and all kinds of crazy tight fitments. Check out the Grimsmo KZbin channel, pretty interesting stuff. I’m not sure if I’d pick the Rask over a Rosie or Arius. It’s definitely up there though.

I'm a subscriber so don't take offense, you have hands that look like they rest in a tool box and you deface this beautiful knife with rubber thumb studs ,stop using the pad of your thumb and use your the flat of your thumbnail,and you'll be quicker

So I went the hard way and bought the Jade G‐10 Atom at $210 last week. Then, I bought copper textured scales but canceled and decided to wait for the textured titanium scales, which came in today for $230. I'm in the hole spending $210+230=$440 plus $10 shipping for each order. 🤦‍♂️ $460 The Hard Way! 🤣 All purchased from TRM I decided not to get the Winterblade Factor on this last drop. It seemed to small and i cannot use it my line of work with the magnets? 🧲 Hey Dood what is better the TRM Atom or the Winterblade Factor?

Hey maybe it was the hard way but you did it! That’s awesome. Gosh, the Atom or Factor? That’s a tough comparison. Cutting performance, Atom. But the Factor is a really good cutter as well. Ergos, Atom. Action and fidget factor, Factor of course. Hard to compare because they’re so different. I love both very much!
