I prob would never buy these luxury brand name items, but I have to say, I love watching your reviews. You have a talent of giving the product in the forefront and not giving biased BS. Cheeers, and subbed!

Just weat a thicker sock with the Size 45 boots. I am also a 44.5 and bought the Jodhpur boots in a 45 and when I wear a thicker sock they fit great.

When you compare your two SLP boots, which colorway do you prefer? The cigar or the light tobacco?
@BenWilliams946 жыл бұрын
Great question! I prefer the light tobacco over the cigar. Not sure why, I think I just got so used to the cigar color that the light tobacco was a nice change.

So I just bought a pair a month ago and sprayed a protector on them etc. I’ve noticed that the nap and texture of one shoe is different than the other. Is that normal? Will they even out over time?
@gpoop6 жыл бұрын
Nope, which is why you never use spray protector on them. You don't need it. Suede is tougher than what people say. Water stains come right out with a simple suede horsehair brush.
@samgeurdi63516 жыл бұрын
As the other guy just said don’t use suede protector. One of the reasons is because it adds another shade to your boots depending how you apply it and how much and what brand you use. Unnecessary either way especially on expensive light boots. I never use the protector and my boots still look the same. You could try to buy the Saphir's Omni'Nettoyant suede cleaner to shampoo and clean it up and refresh the nap and brushing it up after with some quality horsehair brush when it’s dried up. There are some tutorial videos how you use the named product. A reminder to you though, every time you take the boots off just do a quick brush over them to remove loose dust and dirt it might have picked up. Otherwise no need to baby them to much as the patina over time will make them look better.
@BenWilliams946 жыл бұрын
What kind of protector did you use? I used a brand called Frye suede and nubuck protector recommended to me by a cobbler. It isn't heavy duty protection, just enough to keep them from getting water spots etc. It spays on very light and did not change the color, nap, or texture of the suede. Many people say to not use protector at all..just personal preference.

Maybe you sprayed too much? Or you're spraying it too close?

I’ve bought 2 pairs of wyatt saint Laurent boots this year and I’ve never worn them cause just like you I’m scared they’ll get damaged :(. Also I bought some SLP Andy sneakers this year...have you seen them? What your thoughts?
@BenWilliams946 жыл бұрын
I would recommend just enjoying them and don't worry to much about scuffing them up. I have been wearing the heck out of these over the past few weeks and the scuffs just add character. I like the looks of the Andy sneakers! I have seen them in the store.They remind me of Common projects sneakers. I had a pair of common projects sneakers that I did not like, but I might be willing to give the YSL Andy sneakers a try sometime! Thank you for watching.

What denim are you wearing with the boots in the video?
@BenWilliams946 жыл бұрын
They are jeans from Oro Los Angeles. Love them!
@HitRealm6 жыл бұрын
@@BenWilliams94 Would you say they are worth it for the quality you get at the price?
@BenWilliams946 жыл бұрын
HitRealm For the boots I think you’re paying about $500 for the name. The quality of the YSL boots is about the same quality you would find from Oro Los Angeles jodhpurs, common project boots, or Frye boots. With that being said, no other brand looks as sleek and tailored as the YSL boots. There’s something about the sleek look of the YSL boots that no other brand has achieved. If you’re talking about the jeans I think they were worth every penny. They were around $200 and I’ve been wearing the heck out of them over the past 2+ years. They have hardly faded and have held up really well. By far the best pair of jeans I’ve ever had. Maybe I’ll do a review on the jeans soon!

I tried them and the Thursday jodhpurs and the Frye jodhpurs. I loved them all but these were my least favorite and my favorite were the Frye because of the quality and distressed aesthetic.

Thanks Jack, I will have to check the Frye ones out!
@TheNotoriousKID5 жыл бұрын
Jack Nelson Frye Jodhpurs are nice but not as nice as these man, I also recently tried on a Thursday and a Frye Jodhpur, I had to size down a full size for both. I went with the Thursday in black as a decent first boot, I think the Frye version would have been perfect had it been a little taller, as it’s shortest of the three. With all that said, I’m going in store at Saint Laurent soon to try on their version, I haven’t ruled neither of the 3 brands.
@BopWalk5 жыл бұрын
@@BenWilliams94 the Frye ones however have too much of a curve at the bottom on the way to the heels, it looks a little wierd bit I like them so far. Check out the Southern Gents Emerson Jodhpurs too, interesting buckle up placement design.

Help me understand... who pays +1,000 for a pair of boots made by a cloths designer which I can see are constructed using a Blake Stitch and dont even have a close channel stitching. For that amount you can get a pair from a real premium shoemaker like John Lobb or two pairs of Crockett & Jones.. is it just for the name? I'm genuinely curious
@TFM85 жыл бұрын
@Levi i see, have you checked the design of other shoe makers or its something that caught your eye and you didn't look elsewhere ? Thanks for the reply!
@patr705 жыл бұрын
Aren't John Lobb boots similiar to these priced at $1,800-$2,000?
@Eric-le8wu7 ай бұрын
@TFM8 : Not true , first: you can't buy 2 pairs of Crocket @ Jones for that price , check their prices and second: I own both Crocket and Jones and Saint Laurent boots. While I agree the quality on Crocket and Jones is outstanding , the design of shoes is not as sleek and stylish as the Saint Laurents. The finish and the quality of the leather with Saint Laurents boots is also very good i.m.o
@andrewfried31443 жыл бұрын
You have paid for the name and not the boot.It is worth max700 no more. It is nothing special.
