So what did you do when you stopped using video husky?

Thanks for the review. As a very small content creator myself, I was planning on purchasing this service too, but when something is too good to be true, it probably is. And quite honestly for the price (which is now higher now then before) I cannot afford to waste both time and money on a service like this. Thanks for the honest review

This is my frustration too when hire editors overseas. Too much babysitting. Very good and honest advice. 👍🏼

I had the same issue with another editing service. After two months I decided it was just taking longer, I mean they were typos there were cutting my sentences in the middle and it just took me longer to correct. Even when I got the video files it took me longer to fix them to do it myself. Mine are pretty simple Talking Heads with a simple B roll overlay.

I would NOT recommend to Video Husky to editors. There were SOOOOOO MANY MINOR mistakes that becomes MAJOR issues. For $2,100 we got less than (4) videos complete and I would 100% have rather spent that on an actual US editor.

Hey Erik, thanks for adding in your experience too. Especially now with networks like Upwork… it’s super easy to find editors. Companies like Video Husky certainly have to take notice.

Hey Eric. How would you feel if I hire and dedicate an editor for you from India for Just 1000$ per month? He's all yours for the whole month, you can directly contact him through WhatsApp call, give him 'n' no. of videos to edit with unlimited revisions. It's literally hiring a personnel editor overseas.

This is what I'm finding out too. It's taking me longer to get a rough draft and notate it than it would to edit it to the level I want. Did you ever find a different solution or do you still edit your own vidoes?

Hi there! For the most part... I edit my own videos. I would recommend that until you can get someone on your team that is consistent and you can work with directly.

Thank you for an honest review. I've tried to get videos edited from people on Fiverr and had similar experience as yours, had to babysit every single step and took longer than just doing it myself. Have you found any other services or vendors who will do higher quality editing?

Hey there Sandor, I think one of the best ways to get this sort of help long term is to find someone nearby or a contractor... maybe on Upwork... and find someone to work with on an ongoing basis so they can better get to know your style and what you want. I’ve found that agency’s... especially affordable ones have big teams and projects go into a big hopper and time is money... when you have 1 person answerable to a project... that’s the best. Good luck out there!

@@SeeItLoud Thank you. That must be the solution. I'm trying to implement the ideas from Dr. Benjamin Hardy's book, Who not How and find the right team to accomplish more. It's a journey.

Thanks for the review, Kyle. Basically, you have confirmed what I had suspected in the very best, most respectful way possible. Do you have any recommendations on tutorials for Premiere Pro? I am an old school filmmaker (last film I cut was on 35mm) and although I like Premiere, I find it confusing at times and the settings keep vanishing on me! I've watched some videos on it, but I'm really looking for a step-by-step beginners tutorial that's more than a five minute bang-together from someone. I subscribed to your channel, as you deserve it - looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks! (PS, our channel is i the planning stage and we haven't shot anything yet. But we are VERY experienced filmmakers.)

Hi there! Thats great - I started on film, but not quite 35mm. But I certainly had to learn Premiere from scratch a ways back... Anyhow, thanks for the feedback! I know its a long video for a very niche service... But I sort of thought "what would I have wanted to know going into it?" As for Premiere Pro, I am looking to create something so maybe youll see a series from me in the coming months. But... since you probably dont want to wait that long... I have taken some courses on Udemy on Adobe CC programs I wasnt experienced in. I have good things to say about them and they offer Premiere Pro courses - www.udemy.com/course/adobe-premiere-pro-video-editing/ (not an affiliate link... just a recommendation)

I sincerely appreciate this review. I worry about these companies for the exact reasons you described. Those of us who are more advanced video producers and editors will probably get frustrated with their work.

Hey Kyle. Very helpful vid, thanks. You got yourself one new subscriber 😉 OK, so you stopped your subscription with Video Husky, but did you find a better service for your needs (i.e. those more complex projects)?

Your analysis is great and seems fair. I shoot with 1 camera and explain the law. I have my own custom b-roll (pie graphs and photos from my corresponding blog post that I use as the content of my video). I will provide VideoHusky with the blog post. I've edited about 85 vids on Imovie but I burned out with editing. It takes me way too long to edit, and takes me away from my shooting more vids. Do you think that Video Husky is right for me? Thanks in advance!

Hi JZ, thanks for reaching out. I do think they will be able to do a good job for ya. Sounds like you make your own b-roll graphics, which is good. They don’t do animations. And you have the 1 camera angle. This is the simpler (technically) style of editing that they are great at. And good on you for working through 85 vids on iMovie. I would say you fall into the “time is worth doing other activities than video editing” category. The cost of the service should be justified. Let me know how it turns out or if you have any other questions on video production!

Kyle Warren thanks. I will let you know. I’m also looking at Vidchops which has a similar service and also has a smaller 4 vid per month plan.

Kyle Warren I think my custom B-roll separates me from other creators in my space. I use the images on my blog anyways so I’ll just send Vidhusky or Vidchops the blog post link. Thanks again!
