I would totally buy this starter if it had a European release. There’s so many starters for FoW, I wish there were some more options for TY starters.

A few people have said something similar. I wonder if it is harder doing starter set matchups for Team Yankee. With Flames of War the opponents are themed to theatre and era. Is that harder to reliably do as a pairing for moderns?

This is a Hell of a value I know Blitz has a great feature of free shipping if a dollar amount is exceeded… I might have to put a wish list order in and grab a couple of these

Yeah. It is great value. As for the free shipping, that’s what I did for the Red Dawn stuff. Worth it.

Very interesting stuff, I think them keeping the price down with the tokens and rules being the way they are might have been on BattleFront's part thinking about how we might be looking for these kits ourselves. *Big shame on the lack of Shermans.*

Gaming has a following. Benjamin from BlitzMinis travels extensively in China promoting BF’s products. However they tend to think there is an unfair Western bias in many wargames, especially Team Yankee. That’s why Blitz creates their own starter sets. The EG/WG starter is more likely to sell in China than US/Soviet.

Cool starter set, personally i would have preferred this over the ones we got. I wonder why they went for the A5 in the form Germany ordered them, especially with them going for "what if" vehicles like the Marder 2. The prototypes for the 2A5 (Leopard TVM) had more front armour, so they looked a bit different. More like the Strc 122 PLSS, which is based on the TVM, as well. The extra armour was cut after the trails, as a cost saving measure, because the cold war was over at this point.

Maybe they wanted to keep the "what if" levels down a bit, and the 2A5 was what was fielded.

@@FogofWar Well, it is a starter set. And I am quite sure that at least some viewers will be new to Team Yankee. So telling them a bit more what to expect from the box AND the game a bit more in detail is justified.
