The reason for their inaccuracy of colour was because of a buggy firmware update to the bulbs, it removed the fade in/out effects on while turning them on/off (yes, they are supposed to fade in and out, not just instantly turn off) and the bad firmware update also caused colours to be washed out e.g: red is not fully red instead it is red + white. I myself own a Mi LED Smart Bulb too, and that's why I knew it was buggy firmware, and not because you got a defective unit (regarding to colour accuracy). I had the bulb before the buggy firmware update and all colours were really vibrant and how you would expect it to be.

I don't see a correlation between fading in/out vs. the color accuracy. And we're running on the latest firmware already.

@@NasiLemakTech sorry for any confusion, there was no correlation between those two things, instead those were issues that the latest update brought to the bulbs. The best I could describe to you is the fade out effect while turning the bulb off. Instead of it fading slightly and then turning straight off, it should fade e.g. 100% light intensity all the way down smoothly until it is off. No offence whatsoever, but you should go check out other videos of the Mi LED Smart Bulb and see how it would function normally before the buggy firmware update. forum.yeelight.com/t/topic/11604/43 this is a forum thread to the Yeelight forums where a few members of the community have reported this issue. Are Mi Led smart bulb and Yeelight bulb the same ? They look the same, but have a different logo and on Mi Home app there is an option for each of them

Yes, they're the same but have a different name for different regions. Speaking of the Mi Home and Yeelight app, both the apps have different features and are exclusive from each other. For me, I install both Yeelight and Mi Home app to use all the features.

Which base lamp you used? As in the one you screwed the bulb into.

The most basic IKEA table lamp lol. It's using an E27 bulb screw.

There's no official app for it to play music like the Philips Hue. There are 3rd party plugins for that.

Can we connect multiple bulbs together and change colour in sync. Also can we have led strip connected within same group or whatever it is?

Yes you can select a few bulbs to be a "room" and you can group other types of LEDs together.

Now Yeelight app can no longer link devices to google home right? We need to link with Mi Home. I dont think Mi Home supports scene activation and as of right now can only switch on & off, increase & reduce brightness and change colour. Can no longer activate movie scene or good night etc. What a shame.

Both Yeelight and Mi Home apps are very fragmented from each other anyway. I have both apps, and linked to my Google Home for quite a long time now. Using it fine though.

@@NasiLemakTech Ic. I can't seem to get the device linked when I add it using Yeelight app. No problem with mi home. I read in yeelight forum there's a new policy where xiaomi doesn't allow yeelight to support mi devices anymore.

@@singgung Yes that is correct. I'll have to say, the Mi Home and Yeelight apps both have special functionality by themselves. We users have to download both apps - which I think is a nuisance.

Yes. I'm unable to link yeelight to my Google home. Mi Home connects fine with the Google Home.

Actually, yeah. Once the device is connected to your account via Mi Home, it'll automatically appear in the Yeelight app
