Hearing reviewbrah contemplating the cruel nature of entropy was not something I expected to go through today
@costlycoffee4234 Жыл бұрын
and it wasn't! this has nothing to do with entropy! The speed at which life flies by is entirely a product of human memory and perception
@thor182911 ай бұрын
@@costlycoffee4234 Time itself is essentially just entropy in motion.
@costlycoffee423411 ай бұрын
@@thor1829 Time itself has very little to do with the perception of time which is determined by, once again, memory. furthermore entropy describes a state of disorder, it is not some weird catch all for the passage of time. In any given system the entropy is only able to rise and is always rising, I can understand why that makes entropy inherently temporal, but time isn't the only factor in the entropy of a system AT ALL. I'm sorry but entropy already has a meaning and it simply isnt "when you get sad because you don't remember every second of your life and therefore you perceive it as much shorter than it is" because lets be clear, if you could remember every second your life would feel just as long as when you are staring at the clock waiting for school or work to end.
@thor182911 ай бұрын
@@costlycoffee4234 I know all this, I am a chemist myself. It was more of a statement directed towards the fact that total entropy always is approaching a maximum.
@georges32 ай бұрын
@@thor1829ok I thought maybe there was a different definition for entropy than that used in chemistry/physics… He’s not talking about time here, he’s talking about the world “not becoming better”. Degree of disorganization is maybe confounded with perceived QoL? Entropy approaches a maximum in what sense out of curiosity? How is that possible? In terms of quantum mechanics?

Christmas is here. Christmas is coming. Christmas has... came and gone. Y'know honestly, it... it honestly just felt like it was Christmas of 2012. Literally, time has flown by so fast. And that... that being said, it's just... it's funny how fast time has passed, at least for me this year. And honestly it seems like last week when I was just sitting here in... December of 2012, doing those wing reviews... it's... honestly thinking back it's kind of sad to see how... how fast time flies by and... how your life is just going by like that. It's kind of sad to see honestly. I don't know if it's going to get any slower. Every year it's just... I don't know. Not getting any better, I'll tell you that. Well, anyway. That's what I have to say to you there. That's it.

Dude, I don't play midwest emo and mostly play metal/death metal, at 17 I just picked up the old guitar I had been holding on to since childhood and started noodling, learned how to read tabs, all that. Everything just kind of fell in place after that. Now, I'm 23, and I cannot imagine my life without guitar in it, it's my largest source of happiness, even if I never release a thing and nobody cares about what I write. Time spent indulging in what makes you happy is never wasted time, it's the single best investment you can make for yourself.

Somehow I get what he's saying. I feel like things don't get better and that time doesn't get any slower. I've stagnated since the lockdowns and I'm essentially still the same person I was 3 years ago. Only difference is instead of being in school and rejoicing that I get an extended summer break, I'm over a year graduated and I have to be looking for a job. Life comes at you fast like that in this modern day. I'm not as prepared as my peers are and I'm having to deal with struggles in the same way they did, only that these are new struggles we don't know how to fix, while their's pretty much have a set solution. I always chalk it up as "It is what it is" but there's too many people my age and younger who are already struggling or going to be struggling in the same way I am. For the first time in my life, I'm truly unsure about the future. And the worst part is that I have no idea what to do to change the situation.
@laptv2144 Жыл бұрын
I’m essentially the same age as you are I’m guessing but one thing I’ve noticed is time doesn’t feel like it’s flying by too fast or overwhelming me when I’m moving forward in life and growing as a person. The more I do the things in life that I want to do, (big things like growing friendships to be stronger, attempting to find a relationship, getting a job, figuring out what career path I’m aiming for, or setting any other goal and working toward it,) the more I feel like I am in control. I think staying busy is essential otherwise time does just come at you too fast. I still have an issue with this though and as my birthday approaches, it stresses me to think of the things I’m yet to do or even attempt doing.
