To do a three strand 1. grab the three you're about to twist with 2.if you're on left side of your head take the twist thats in your right hand and move it over one in left hand -so the hair will go over your middle strand and left hand strand 3.then you have the middle strand that will now be in your right hand and have that one do the same thing (going over both the strands) 4.keep repeating (vice versa on opposite side of your head)
