The correct answer is there is no monthly cost unless you wish to subscribe to the KardiaCare membership (£9.99 a month or £99 a year in the UK). Again all of this information is available online or in the app.

You know... I don't know! I've had it about a year without issues. It has two small screws on the back with a panel about the right size for a watch battery.

This thing is complete garbage. The only heart rhythms it is designed to detect are tachycardia, bradycardia, normal sinus rhythm and atrial fibrillation. You can quite literally do the exact same thing by checking your pulse. Bradycardia, is simply an otherwise normal heart beat but is below 60 beats per minute. Tachycardia is the same thing but a heart rate above 120. Normal sinus, a heart rate between 60 and 120 that is regular in rhythm. Atrial fibrillation is a heart beat that each beat you feel is not in regular sequence. With 2 leads (what cardiac mobile gets from electrical conduction between two arms) the best you get is no more than checking your pulse but with a fancy gadget that you don’t need.

Not sure where you got your medical degree, but I can tell your for shit sure that as someone who has AFIB without advanced training, I'm about 50/50 on knowing I when I'm in AFIB and when it's over. The records collected by this seem to be something that all my cardiologists value. I'm going to guess they are a little more informed than your highness.

@ my medical “degree” is a masters in emergency medicine and a practicing paramedic of 42 years who looks at EKGs all day. Your cardiologists tell you they are interested in your report simply to be nice. They only care about three things, 1. Do you have AFib, 2. Is it symptomatic 3. Is it controlled by medication or if you’ve had an ablation, had there been breakthrough. If they have more concern than that, they will place you on a 5 lead halter monitor that will actually aid in identifying location and its affect on other electrical pathways. The tracing received from a 2 lead monitor (kardia) is exactly identical to taking your pulse. If you feel symptomatic ( faint, short of breath, anxious) simply place middle and index to radial pulse in wrist. If it is irregular ( beats don’t come at the same interval) you are in AFib. That simple. The life threatening rhythms such as Vtach or heart blocks can only be seen by a real EKG using 3-12 leads. If it helps you to see it on a screen, good on ya. But if you don’t have it with you, just take your pulse and you will quickly see that you can feel the same thing without need of a quack device.
