Only Kuemper's 3rd regulation loss of the season, and he didn't really deserve a loss in this game. I guess this makes up for the time he gave up 8 goals in a game and got an overtime loss. It's crazy that he allowed 8 goals in one game back in October but still has a 2.11 GAA in 21 games. 8 of his 44 goals allowed came in that one game.

Oilers rocking the best record since Nov 9 21-6-2 racking up 44pts that's a .759 pts%. In that ime frame they've had the best pk 88.1% and 4th best pp 29.2%. They've also had the best shots for per game 31.83 and 6th best shots aginst 26.17 to go with a league best goals for 107 and tied for 5th best in goals against 72. Also, they've got the best goal differential a +35 and the 8th best team sv% .905 during that 29 game stretch.

Stuuuuuuuuu was a portrait of skill in the net tonight. Whatever it took to stop the Kings he did. That one save on the cross-crease pass that ended up on the top of the net was mind-blowing! The game itself looked very much like what we can expect in the inevitable meeting between these two teams in the playoffs. I can't wait for the spring to come!

Watching the Panthers play should come with free psychiatrist trips. It's absurd how many players look done for on the ice. Barkov, Tkachuk, Verhaeghe, Bennett... maybe the two Cup Finals appearances have destroyed their will to play the game correctly. Just wow.

Our 5v4 4v4 and 6v5 is all terrible. Again and again we are good at 5v5 but lose due to special teams. Like I literally can’t remember our last 4v4 goal….gotta be over a 100 games ago

Florida becoming an ongoing comedy at this point lmao we are def getting destroyed by NJD but yet everyone keeps coping with the, "oh they still played good, it happens" and the, "it's still early in the season" or the classic, "we'll be fine just Stanley Cup hangover lol" but like we keep losing these games we should clearly be winning. The Oilers AND Kings BOTH had a LOT of Control. Oilers, ultimately, had more. This was a playoff style game. Coincidental minors late in the 2nd period (Laferriere and Kapanen) gave us a 4 on 4 where the Oilers scored. Leon was instrumental winning the race and battle to get the puck and driving to the net, getting it to Nurse who took a shot, rebound to the Birthday Boy Connor (Happy Belated Birthday Connor now 28 years young) for the only goal of the game. Defense was a massive star here and a key turning point was 5 minutes into the game when Skinner stopped a 2 on 1. Everyone locked things down and nothing got in on either side barring the one goal. Kuemper was great. Stuart Skinner was better. The only time Laferriere got after the penalties was the 2 seconds it took to skate to the bench. That's where he was the rest of the game. Nobody got a PP goal (Oilers had 2 shots at it, Kings had one) so PK's were 100% on both sides. From the stats: Both teams had 30 shots on goal. Oilers Outhit LA 15 to 8 (it's definitely he End Times). Kings won 2 more faceoffs (32 to 30), had more Giveaways (11 to 8), one more Takeaway (4 to 3) and blocked 2 less shots (14 to 16 for the Oilers). This game was TIGHT and CONTROLLED. With this critical win at this time in the season the Oilers are 4 points ahead of LA (though LA has 2 games in hand and more Regulation Wins). Vegas is 4 points ahead of the Oilers with the same # of games played. VGK has the easiest schedule for the remainder of the season. Oilers are 2nd on that list. LA, not so much and is back a bit. Next Game for Oilers, the Minnesota Wild. Next Game for LA the Vancouver Canucks. Next game for VGK, the Nashville Predators This is going to be a hard fought stretch for the Oilers before the quality of teams (using the standings ONLY) gets easier. Take care all
