Awesome! So many people want to trash APR, but they make reliable tunes.

Great video! Looking at getting my 17 Passat tuned and I’ve been contemplating going with APR, but couldn’t find any good video reviews about it until this. Thank you!

I'm running the Unitronic stage one tune on my 2016 Golf and have no regrets running it. Still on the stock clutch and is still holding the power.

@@TheEuroLife. I went with them for the ability to tune at home in my garage. Last month I had the brake/clutch fluid changed at the dealership and found out after the fact the dealership did a software update too. So I saved the shop fee by reloading the Unitronic stage one tune at home in the garage. The local APR dealer charges a $100 to re-install the APR tune and that alone was the deciding factor of going with Unitronic. I am very happy with the Unitronic tune, very civil for daily driving.

Amazing video with great info! I have had my tune for about 25,000 miles and I am at 73,000 miles! I absolutely do not regret it at all! I do have an automatic transmission and I notice I have some pretty bad turbo lag and I think it’s because of the auto! For anyone wondering my transmission has been fine! It already had a small clunk and occasional hard shift before the tune and had not gotten worse with it! You really can’t beat the hp per dollar and it really woke up the car! Anyway great video!

I have a 2014 Jetta 1.8t 134k miles with just the stage 1 tune and my car feels like a totally different car. I really increased my love for vw after I sold my 2011 tdi golf. I would suggest getting the apr stage 1 tune

Good info! I’m about 20k miles into a JB4 in my Passat( 51k mi) certainly wondering long term. Could be different result than APR.

thanks for the vid, after the mention of premium fuel only, I'm not sure im going to pull the trigger now. Might look into JB4 if they still allow for flex fuel or whatever you call it.

You can get an 87 tune if you’re worried about cost of fuel.

Considering a stage 1 apr tune on my ‘16 sport A/T. Anyone recommends the tune (am already over 100k miles)? How’s the automatic transmission holding up?

Also; what could a turbo upgrade be for this car? Turbo from the GLI?
@TheEuroLife.
@TheEuroLife. 3 күн бұрын
It sure on the auto trans, but I know there aren’t recorded issues at stage 1. If looking for a turbo upgrade, it’s usually the IS38.

The average clutch lasts 60k miles. Around 3:20 you talk about your clutch doing okay and lasting another 30-40k (from 115k)... How long do you think a clutch should last?? lol After 100k you should be on your second clutch, ESPECIALLY if you have a tune

Just getting ready to turn 140k and still no slipping and engagement is good. Why replace the clutch if it’s not failing?
@TheEuroLife.
@TheEuroLife. Жыл бұрын
Also, almost all of my miles are highway. Not a ton of city driving, and I’m not constantly doing launches and pulls. I’ll count myself lucky if I can get 150-160k out of my stock clutch🤷‍♂️

@@TheEuroLife. Hey, it's like they say... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Mileage will definitely vary from vehicle to vehicle and from driver to driver but I think 60-100k is fair range. Anything after that is just a bonus.

@@TheEuroLife. That's not true , a clutch can 100,000 miles and more easily. Depends on how you shift..

Just search the APR website to locate a shop in your area that can install it. You buy the tune directly through them.
