I think your experience with the Patrick Ta foundation is consistent with most of the reviews I've seen, where many people said that it didn't hold up well past the 4-5 hour mark. The downside with how Patrick Ta bundled the foundation and powder is that some of the people who did like the foundation (and said it held up well throughout the day for them) didn't like the powder. So unless you love both the powder and the foundation, it's hard to justify buying it. I think that's a good lesson for companies to always come out with separate products.

Loved the Hindash pigments, so versatile. The palette looks really versatile and perfect for the winter paleness that is now upon me RIP my tan lol. Not sold on the Patrick Ta product and it looks like the wear test is consitent with a lot of other reviews/comments. Loving Lanmas thank you both for giving us all so much holiday joy :)

I agree regarding eye shadow palettes, so many are so similar so it’s hard to justify spending so much on them. I’ve heard the same opinion on the foundation, it doesn’t hold up well. For most people we need a foundation to last a regular working day (8 hrs) and if it’s only good for around 4 that’s just not practical.

Your experience with the eyeshadow palette being patchy and not blending… I had the same experience. The foundation was super drying on me and cracked around my mouth and nose. It looked awful. I never return stuff, but I returned that foundation.

Another product that applies similarly and beautifully like that (maybe for less) is the Bare Minerals hydrating foundation stick. And it’s so handy when you’re traveling, totally buffable and buildable

The makeup by Mario pallette is amazing! Just keep using it everyday and change the eyelid primer. It has made my other pallettes hard to use, since Mario's formula is so soft and easy to blend!

I remember that Mel Thompson once did a video about the difference. I think that for finishing powder, she buffed it in all over her face. Sorry that I can’t remember the video title or any more details.

I have oily skin so for me a setting powder is the type that soaks up the moisture from the liquid base products, stops them from moving around, and helps keep you matte. A finishing powder is more like the hourglass ones where they have more glow and don’t have the drying ability but can help you blend everything and ensure that lit from within look.

For me, as a makeup artist, setting powder = making the makeup last & removing the excess oil and finishing powder = smoothing the texture of the skin, giving a glow from within, etc. ☺️

That’s a great wear test, actually. Most of us have long workdays with not always ideal conditions so it’s good to get a true idea of the performance of products after a day of real use. Because honestly if we are sitting around our house working from home and not being exposed to the outside world, who’s wearing makeup anyway?
