Sanderson going top be a top 2 shutdown defensemen. Not fun to play against DD. Rossi fell because of size and others were picked because of goal scoring capabilities or defense.... having raymond go #4 changed the dynamic of the draft... was more surprised that Quinn went top 10 and I think the raymond pick is really a reach... Detroit needs D or a C so that was strange... thought drysdale would land their.... also keep in mind that a playmaking center for the past couple of years (unless your mcdavid) kind of are "busts" and dont live up to the hype in the big leagues because your playing against professionals, men, and your life essientlay is on the line... junior hockey is like fun... the nhl is a diffrent animal. I wanted to see the Devils trade down and grab the goalie but I was more surprised that nashville took askarov with saros not showing signs of controlling the #1 spot it makes sense but that's like building your future around your goalie (their going to be on the downfall in a year or 2) so I would of picked up a defensemen or just traded the pick. Nashivile is in a weird spot with cap problems and goalie problems. I think their in alot of trouble next year.... this is what happens when u trade that heart and soul to your team for overrated offensive defensemen (subban Weber)..... I wouldnt say perfetti fell but I didn't like Winnipeg not picking lundell. He will be jordan stall type of player and I dont think the jets need more scoring they need to find the role player. Their also in a weird spot but they have really good goalietending and front office... they do need to address defense and depth over the years they couldnt afford all their great defensemen which is understandable but that's why at drafts u fill in the spots for 3-5 years down the road. I really didnt like the jets pick and I think adding role players are key...

Franck Bernard the offer has to be there too, it’s not like you can just move it if you feel like it. At that point, if you are that confident about a guy, you may as well guarantee you get him. Just to explain what Calgary was doing trading down. They likely had 2-3 players let's say Zary, Lapierre and Schneider all very closely ranked (essentailly tied) they talked with the Rangers maybe even asked who they would be taking with their pick and moved down three spots in the hopes that one of those players would be available and picking up a third rounder in the process. When picks 20 and 21 didn't include any of the players in Calgary's group they traded the 22nd pick to drop down to 24 and pick up another third rounder. Calgary likely ended up with the player they wanted or close enough at 19 but managed to pick up two third rounders in the process. Long winded explanation but hope people get the point.

I swear to god if BM rushes zegras and Jacob 🤦🏽♂️ We picked up a bunch of old guys for a reason. The prospects need to develop. We don’t want another Fowler situation or a lundestrom situation where they were rushed

I don't get why people are surprised with Sanderson. Ottawa has Brannstrom and Chabot already. They don't need Drysdale, they need a D guy like Sanderson. Chris Phillips with talent. Great pick. Also helps he's good friends with current Sens prospects and they'll all be playing together.

super disappointed rangers didn’t pick lapierre such a high risk high reward pick which is perfect for a team with a great prospect pool

If we didnt get up on the draft rangers rival would of had a great d man that slid. That pick should of bin around 13 to 16. Calgery wanted a centerman for sure. So smart move on the rangers. Bredon schnieder is ready to play now righty defenceman. He looks alot like stal at his prime and trouba that is a shoot first kinda dman

Well hes pretty close considering hes 6ft 2 209 pounds. Maybe get ada on a 1 year deal slot this guy 3rd pairing or backup. Ludkvist should be next on the line. Hes a safe backup for injuries id say.

As an ottawa fan i figure sanderson pick over drysdale is due to chabot. We have the elite offensive upside dman. We dont have a high end defensive monster
@steveosullivan52624 жыл бұрын
These guys are so young. Have to say Buffalo got the guy they needed. A scoring winger than knows how to work. Anaheim had great draft. Rossi and Quinn, well I wonder what their teammates on the 67's are thinking about now.

Sanderson is what Ottawa needs, they dont need offensive backend scoring (drysdale). They have the offence in Chabot.

Trading down only works if somebody below you wants to trade up. And with all the players from 4-12 being pretty close talent-wise nobody was willing to give up a 2nd round pick to move up and get a specific player. Same thing happened to the Red Wings last year with the 6 pick. We could have gotten him later but nobody wanted to trade up.
@drivethru61554 жыл бұрын
Dorion was trying to trade down by sounds of how he said the 5th pick was potentially open to be moved
@OttawaRocks4 жыл бұрын
Not the flashy pick, but perhaps it is the smart pick. Ultimately, if Ottawa wants to contend they will need a shutdown defenceman (and if the Dman has offensive upside that's a bonus). Sanderson has both and was gift wrapped in the draft for Ottawa to take. Maybe not in trades but when it comes to drafting and developing Dorion is the man. Time will tell.

Minnesota has a bunch of prospects now. Potential team for 2021/22 season. Fiala - Rossi - Kaprizov Boldy - Eriksson Ek - Zuccarelo Beckman - Khovanov - Parise Suter - Spurgeon Brodin - Dumba Addison - Soucy Kahkonen And I did not forget about 4th line, you just cant predict it. And we would protect 8 players in expansion draft and loose either Greenway or Kunin

In Jarmo we trust ....... but I must say this makes me nervous, but Chinakhov’s elite prospects page seems promising Edit: so apparently per Aaron Portzline one of the NHL’s head scouts had Chinakov at 28, so still a bit of a reach by Jarmo, but not as bad as I originally thought

I just watched a few of your old video's about this draft. I have to say you called the ball, first on Sanderson and then on Quinn. You had him at 10 and said Quinn had past Rossi on one of the major scouting services. For as much grief as Buffalo seems to be taking, Quinn caught the eye of the scouts that came to see Rossi.
@Megafest74 жыл бұрын
After finding out who Yegor Chinakhov is, I'm hyped. The kid absolutely demolished the Russian minors last year, is one of the best forwards on a sketchy Omsk team this year, and isn't afraid to skate through traffic against men. Add that to his wrist shot and hockey IQ both looking excellent, and I can see why Jarmo says CBJ had him as the tenth best player in the draft.

Chinakhov was eligible for 2019 draft. Not selected. Now he suddenly is 1st rounder. He started the KHL season really well, scored 5 in last 5 games, good skating, great energy, nice shot. Bob Hartley is his coach now and he puts him to the 1st line (some injuries-related). But from nobody to the 1st round in a year (covid one)?! That is really not a compliment for the scouting NHL clubs do on MHL (the youth satellite for KHL).

Sanderson fits the Senator’s team much better than Drysdale would. I see a ton of Sens fans complaining about the pick (I am not one), we do not need any more offensive d-men. Sanderson will provide much needed steadiness on the blue line and let offensive players like Brannstrom develop more.

@teigetsu15284 жыл бұрын
Chinakov was the most surprising. Jarmo and Ville Siren were very pleased with their pick. Maybe they see a young Panarin. Top 7 were easy but Buffalo surprised me with Quinn too.
@dylanwynkoop45784 жыл бұрын
Man I trust Jarmo, but that pick was so out of nowhere that I’m slightly questioning it Edit: also apparently one of the NHL’s head scouts had the kid at 28, so not as big of a reach as originally thought.
@teigetsu15284 жыл бұрын
@@dylanwynkoop4578 Chinakkov grew 2-3 inches in a year. He went from super skilled small kid to a young man in a year with more room for growth, and no doubt the CBJ scouts have done their homework on his personality. CBJ had him in their top 10 in a deep draft year. They must think very highly of his talent level.
