The prototype f40 has the logo on the passenger side according to some pictures that i have seen of the car.

The Bburago model of the F40 is a really good looking model to have on your mantle piece, and for the price it is a very good reproduction, that even the most avid collector couldn't turn their nose up at the detail. No wonder it is a best seller, who didn't as a child want to own a F40 even if it's just a model. :)

Thank you so much for this video. I am a Japanese watching from Japan. I think this red one was the model, which was my first Bburago bought in the train station of Rome in 1992. Didn't know this was such a popular diecast model. I was just travelling with my friends in North Africa and Europe from Japan.

Great video! I'm still missing the F40 and the Enzo out of the Ferrari's fast five but I'm thinking about getting a Ferrari Enzo by Hot Wheels that's in a pretty rough shape for 3 dollars. The original series F40 cost 100 dollars here in S.Korea so I couldn't dare pick it up.
@ImperialDiecast3 жыл бұрын
i'd definitely recommend getting the hot wheels enzo, it's a great looking model and surprisingly it is still easy to get for around RRP, i still see many offers for

thank you very much! the best place to get such an f40 is from e bay, just keep looking until you find one in good condition and a good price, they always keep showing up there and sometimes are in bad condition so just keep browsing the product listings until you get a good deal.

Bought this model and am modifying it to be as realistic as possible including making the pop ups work, changing the exhaust to straight pipes, redoing the wastegate tubing adding metal bits.

Hello there ! Recently I bought the reproduced ` original series ` bburago F40, and I can say, if u don't want to buy a made in Italy one, it is basically the same casting, with better details on everything, except for the front interior ( belt, tubes , etc are still plain red plastic.) Also they feel better compared to the Italy one that my cousin has. I'd say, if you can get one for a good price, go ahead ! I got mine for 40$ and it was a steal, really !
@ImperialDiecast2 жыл бұрын
absolutely! it saves you a lot of hassle like painting all the extra details yourself. sadly when I was on the lookout for mine a year ago, I could only ever find them for 80 dollars so i got this one instead

This is just awesome ! You mentioned that the Tonka version has pop up headlights. How about the rest of the car from Tonka. Any suggestions if I should go for Tonka or Bburago version of the F40 ?
@ImperialDiecast3 жыл бұрын
thank you! i dont own any tonkas IRL but I have heard they're actually slightly bigger than 1/18, more like 1/17, plus if you look at the pics of the tonka in my video I personally feel it looks a little "elongated", like the shape is a little off. Also the engine of the bburago seems to be more detailed. So if there is no price difference I would go for the bburago, and when it comes to these old models condition is also very important.
@DiecastDreamz3 жыл бұрын
@@ImperialDiecast Thanks a lot for the explanation. Well price wise, I found Tonka cheaper than Bburago. I couldn't judge the longish size that you mention, but I felt the Bburago ones have slightly better details and finishing. Let me dig a bit more and see if the Tonka makes a better display piece or the Bburago.

I just thought of something do the upgrades that you make on your models you know to make them look better do they enhance the value of the model or does it decrease the value of the model ? Because I had carpets to some of my models which there are 1/18 scales models that I collect.
@ImperialDiecast2 жыл бұрын
considering these are bburagos that (at least in europe) retail for 30-45 euro new in box, i would say custom work increases their value by a bit rather than further decreasing, because they do look better and there's not many people who put this sort of work into them so that others are forced to buy the KK scale or GT spirit if they want a similar look (but lose the opening features in the process) while the kyosho and hot wheels elite are impossibly hard to find.
