Looks like a great light. I’ve had a fenix handheld flashlight for about 7 years and it’s been fantastic. Thanks for the great review!

Enjoyed this video. I have been night riding since 2000 and it is so cool experience lights that have have gone from halogen, to HID and now really efficient LEDs. I was deep in the magic shine era when people were burning their homes down charging the lights --with batteries that only lasted a few charges. Now we have great lights and great prices that work really well.

I remember riding with a motor cycle battery in my back pack and a home made light on my helmet. Lights have got dramatically better.

The best feature of this light is the replaceable battery. 21700 are common and when it dies, your light isn't going in the bin. Plus, if you carry a spare, it's a few seconds to swap and you've doubled your runtime. I have had the BC30 with two 18650 batteries for a few years in the harshest of UK winters and it just keeps going. They do a GoPro mount, which works very well and is relatively cheap. Recommended.

Fantastic video Lance hey it’s great to see you are starting to feel and hear you are starting to feel bit more better over COVID. I think I might try out some night riding next year in the winter weather. All ways looking forward to seeing you in your next video

I think so. Bring back the day, night relay races but have it on the longest day.🤣

Dose this light require charging before the ride or can you do it at the trail head 🎉

Trail head is fine. Hard to fix much else in the dark.😁

Hi! I did a review of these lights myself and found the hotspot being a bit irritating. Would want a wider beam. Knowing that you have tested other lights as well, how did you find the width of the light beam? Apart from that I love the replacable batteries and the easy of use. Cheers from Sweden!
@bestdayevermtb2 Жыл бұрын
I personally found the beam wide enough to ride with confidence in the forest at speed. I found the light very convenient and easy to use but will probably still use my 4500 lumen light for night rides as it is much brighter and wider.

wow even in cold Sweden it overheats ☹️
@MTBs Жыл бұрын
@@SSH01 Almost all lights will adjust to a lower power level. Being it overheating issues, voltage drop or simply a timer to improve battery life. Fenix is one of very few brands that clearly includes this information, so kudos to them for doing that.

Great video as always Steve. Nice review of the light. Who was that annoying chap in the black T shirt sat next to you?

Does it not come with a GoPro mount to make it easier to adjust the angle on the helmet?

No it doesn't but that would be ideal

May be you check Fenix ALD-10 for go pro mount, it should be fit both on BC21R or BC26R

It's warm or cold Light?
@bestdayevermtb22 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean exactly. Yellow or white light? Or does the light get hot? It is a white light and it does get hot.
@twosix_002 жыл бұрын
@@bestdayevermtb2 I mean, if the light it projects is cold white light or warm light? How secure is the mount to the handlebar?
@bestdayevermtb22 жыл бұрын
@@twosix_00 I would say cold white light. The handle bar mount is very secure. Never moved once with any of the rides.

Of all the Fenix products I've purchased over the years, this is the absolute worst. I am usually pretty high on Fenix, but I advise to stay away from this light. It just doesn't work. I do a lot of my cycling in the darkness of early morning rides. It suddenly turns off and/or flickers, goes dim and goes blank. Not cool when riding at 19+ mph in total darkness. Customer service with Fenix has me confused beyond belief. First they say they will refund me and give me 1,000 Fenix bucks. Then they say they to return it (via prepaid label). They say as soon as they get it, they will refund and credit me. Now they say they have had the light for four days, but i have to wait another week until they decide if the light is defective or not.
@bestdayevermtb2 Жыл бұрын
That doesn't sound good. Hopefully that gets sorted for you. I have not had issues but don't use it as much as you.

What I've noticed that when I put the battery out of the light, clean it and put it back - it helps. At least for a while - a couple days. But then it starts again, it happedns specially when I shake the light. So I think it has something to do with the circuit of the Fenix. It's also important to twist the back of the flashlight with little force (after you put the battery back) when you close it. It helps for a while...

I have two BC30 lights. The older one and the V2. The older one is stellar. The newer one is a bit shorter and the connection between the batteries and the light is crap. They redesigned the battery housing and it seems a bit too long. It was always turning itself off at the slightest bump. I bought some small magnets and put one at the end of each battery. It's a bit of a faff but it's fine now.
@CanIHasThisName8 ай бұрын
Original Fenix batteries are bit longer than standard sizes. So you can't just get regular ones, especially not flat tops.
