7:20 It turned out there is no special wrench, you can buy any general belt wrench to change the oil filter. I also sorted out you can press and hold the tip of the left joystick, then move the joystick at the same time, it will swing the boom without swinging the whole body. This also helps with the greasing shown at 8:56 as commented by @TooLegits

I bought one of these at auction. A/C did not work well. After diagnosis, it turns out the radiator fan was blowing in the wrong direction. The fan was correct for the engine but the factory configuration put the fan on the opposite side of the engine for the standard fan. So the fan blew air from the engine compartment through the radiator and then to the outside. We have ordered another fan with the opposite pitch. And no, you can't just turn the fan around. I can't imagine this not being caught at the factory. Also, the oil filter was rubbing as the engine ran, so it sprung a leak. Luckily we noticed it before the engine pumped all its oil out. We replaced the oil filter for a correct one, which was smaller. Buyer beware.

@jamesmoore176 Thank you for your comment. I just tested my AC, and it's blowing hot air. Do you mind sharing what fan you ordered? I checked, and the fan is installed between the radiator and the engine. The fan is blowing air towards the outside. Based on my research, a car radiator fan blows (or sucks) air from the radiator towards the engine, but construction equipment may blow air to the outside to avoid sucking in dirt. However, I also found that even excavator fans commonly suck air from the radiator towards the engine, and some have reversible fans to blow the dirt out. I also noticed that the radiator fan and the AC compressor are always on when the engine runs, which doesn't seem right to me. Additionally, for the oil filter, I had to remove the metal bracket supporting the AC compressor in order to remove the filter. I'm really worried it may cause misalignment when I put the bracket back.

@@DesertApprentice I bought the 1906-1008 Kubota radiator fan on Amazon. The bolt holes had to be drilled to match. It is slightly bigger and has more blades but most importantly blows the right way. When I bought it, the AC blew cold at first but soon got warm. It was useless in the heat. After the change, the AC works pretty well and stays cool. I think the factory just wanted to export as fast as possible with no regard for customer satisfaction. There are no manuals, no guarantees, no email responses. But they are cheap to buy, so there is that.

If you haven’t figured out the boom swing, there’s a button on top of the left hand joystick, press it down and hold it while moving the stick left or right.

Just finally got my machine. Got two questions. Are you able to swap the ISO patterns of the control? I’m having a hard time with that and secondly, where is the rabbit mode for having two different speeds on your travel?

No rabbit mode and not sure about swapping the control pattern

I never tried to swap the control. I just used the control as-is. I don't know about the rabbit mode. I have been moving very slowly. I suppose if you increase the throttle, it may go faster.

All it took after research was simple valve body swap few hoses all good. Thanks you for the information. Although sadly my joystick is having issues right from factory with a broken inner valve. Hard to find an exact replacement so my machine is stuck dead in water until new one arrives

8:56 you don't need a 90 to hit that grease nipple. simply articulate the boom to the right lol

Hey @TooLegits, I'm a newbie. When I move the joystick, the whole body swings. I'm having trouble figuring out how to just swing the boom. Could you share any tips? Thanks!

Cool, I figured it out. I need to press and hold the tip of the left joystick, and move it at the same time. That will only swing the boom, not the whole body. Thanks for the heads up!

I just bought an MP46 and I'm trying to figure out the difference between the MP30 and MP46. They're both 24'ish HP diesel motors. The only manual it came with was for the Yanmar diesel engine.

I believe the number is related the weight class. MP30 is 2.5 ton. I suppose MP46 might be heavier? On the front side of MP30, there is plate on the bottom right shows the operating weight 2,500kg.

I think it's just an updated model number but prett much the same machine from everything I can tell I know my controls are different from the cab of this model in the video mine has a lever that raises the left control station out of the way for entering and exiting the cab I also noticed there's no heat shielding on the back side of the engine compartment also I believe my front windshield can lift up and open

@desertapprentice I've got a crutial question about this machine. I have one on order and was wondering if they come from the factory with hydraulic oil topped off? If not what type of hydraulic oil do you use?

@acessdenied700 I've used the excavator for over 50 hours so far and I assume the hydraulic fluid is still full. There is a small glass cover to check the fluid level. I searched "checking hydraulic fluid levels" on KZbin, but I'm still not sure how to read it precisely. I'll post an update once I figure out exactly how to read it.

@@DesertApprentice I’m buying mine from auction as well, and that’s why I am curious because as of right now, brand new and comes with zero oil in the engine. So I assume the hydraulic fluid does not come with the machine as well?

@@acessdenied700 Wow, that's concerning. Mine came with full engine oil. When I first checked mine, I almost made a mistake by looking at the flywheel housing instead of the actual oil dipstick. Make sure you're checking the dipstick from the back side of the engine. If you see a hole with gears inside from the front side, that's the flywheel housing, which is supposed to be dry. I hope this helps and that it's just a simple mix-up!

I'm also curious, how was it delivered to you? someone has to drive the excavator off the delivery trailer, i suppose it can damage the engine if there is no oil.

Yes correct. My machine from Richie bros auction house shows the “no oil” tag still being on engine. That got me thinking hopefully from factory these come with hydraulic oil and at least a small amount of oil in order to ensure safe temporary operation to move during the selling orocess
