Great review - clear and concise. Just bought one of these today ahead of a trip away next week. A great alternative as I didn't fancy bringing my full size tripod with me but wanted stability for night time shots.

For DSLRs like Nikon D5300 and smartphones, which is better, Evo or the regular Pixi? The locking mechanism is durable on the original Pixi?
