If I hadn't stumbled upon this I would probably be sobbing in despair right now. I'm an old woman and technology baffles me and I couldn't make any sense of what HP was telling me. An Amazon review said there was "a KZbin video" that helped, so I did a search and clicked on the first one, and it was you! Thank you for your very clear and totally understandable directions. Sir !... as an ex long term Senior IT Instructor now retired who admits even with my experience finds setting up devices a right pain and on seeing some of the appalling attempts on here to instruct users on setting up devices, especially printers makes me want to cry at how bad they are, please accept my opinion this is with out doubt the 'best' I have seen for a long time. Not sure if you are professional instructor/teacher/presenter as I was once, I can't fault this video in any way (and I usually am very fussy). Really useful your suggestion of not using the web site or phone app and I can see why it would cause users problems. Followed your instructions to the letter and was a breeze. so thank you very much.

This is an EXCELLENT video. I am not tech savvy at all. I didn’t find the exact Envy model, and so I got a similar printer. The setup was a little different, which made me cringe, because I’ve been known to mess up electronic equipment without knowing I messed it up. So, after I set up the router, I kept going forward with the instructions, not finding Copy, scan, setup again, so I went backwards, but didn’t really need to, and got the copy, scan, setup, but it was at this point that this man doing the video did the setup going to the web. I had already installed the HP Smart app, so it was just a matter of a couple of clicks, and the printer was setup. HOWEVER, I freaked out when I turned on my computer to watch tv, and the name of the wireless router for the printer came up. Remember, I’m not tech savvy at all. So, I went to the settings on my computer and just changed back to the router name for my computer, and everything was ok. So, I guess I have to remember to change the router name when I print from my computer?????? If you are not tech savvy, and think you won’t be able to figure out how to install a wireless printer, get this printer, because the man gives excellent instructions.

This was helpful, the most crucial issue was getting the printer hooked up to home network. Mobile devices originally detected it as a network but the proper password to be part of network was found on the set up screen, thanks

I should have watched this and made notes before setting up my husband's 5030 this afternoon. I resorted to using a USB cable as I couldn't work out how to connect it via WiFi. I should have gone through the manual setup first!!! But I figure I can always change settings as and when so will try to loose the cable in the very near future. I have my own more robust HP 6830 set up to my Mac via WiFi but that was probably more luck than judgement! I remember I always had problems with it when using the USB cable (it used to freeze or just not show a connection) Once it was set up via WiFi, it's never let me down since! My husband's old Windows 7 HP laptop is a little difficult for me to navigate since I bought my first Mac 3 years ago - I've conveniently forgotten all things Microsoft so had to almost rewire my brain when I installed the 5030 to the laptop! I'll get it figured out at some point and if necessary I'll uninstall and go back to scratch - it'll be one less cable to keep dusted! And I agree at how clear and instructive this video is - no long pauses or umming and aaing!!! And great not to have to listen to an American accent or a background of music (*_*)

The HP setup is intentionally a labyrinthine process to confuse the user into signing up for their ink cartridge replacement service. The app on my MacBook Pro was rife with errors. Thanks to your excellent video, the process was a breeze. Very much appreciated!

Thanks! It’s hard to say honestly regarding the repair. I usually recommend replacing your laptop with something affordable like a Chromebook, instead of going through screen repair. I can suggest a few Chromebook options if you like

Hi, I bought this printer about 1 month ago and followed your setup instructions and everything worked great. So a big thank you for that, since I’m not at all computer savvy. Dude. This video is clear and helpful. I'm setting mine up right now. I just entered my printer model on the hp123 site and searched. There is no option to install printer software on my laptop. The only option is to "get the app" That's it. I'd rather do it the way you showed. Any input or do I have to use the get the app button on my laptop.

What an excellent and clear Video. Great detailed work. My question is I just purchased a similar looking HP Envy 5052 All In One Printer at Costco. The only info I can find on line on the 5052 Printer is at Walmart.com. This 5052 Printer looks identical to the HP 5055 but I can find no info on the differences between the two printers. They are Both HP 5000 series printers. Do you know if your excellent instructions will work for the HP Envy 5052 Printer? Your reply would be very much appreciated.
