Great design seems to emerge from clarity of thought, i get that impression from much of your ideas and solutions you have brought to you tube over the years, you always seem to inspire some new thinking on how to solve many common problems that us modellers come up against on a regular basis but may i add in my view i you are consistantly practical in with your ideas. Which provides a lot of food for thought which i find is qiute a challenge to improve or rather in my case tweek this or that a little to own my personal taste, but all the hard work was quite rightly down to your sound and well thought design. Thank you Gormo once again for your wonderful ideas inspirational designs.

Every system has it's pro and con's. And this is my personal opinion, but if it work for you, that's what matters in the end. The pro's here: -cheap way to make your own coupling system -so much better than chain fishing to couple or uncouple -always works where ever you wish to use it on your layout -you can create a universal coupling system The con: -my main issue is don't like the hand of God, as they say, interfering on my layout -a lot of work fitting these coupling if you have a big fleet. -don't like the look of these couplings (again a subjective personal view) There are so many ways to make couplings, but in the end it's a personal choice. But it's good you share your system, there are always people who find this useful. Personally my favorite system is a few magnets in between the sleepers and a staple attached to your Bachmann/Dapol type coupling hook. But also here are pro's and con's Unfortunately all the manufactures have there own system and there is no unified system, and I don't see they ever will come to a uniform solution, even with NEM there is no real strict uniform placement… Anyway as always a great video to look at.

Thank you Danny, Yes I think you have summarized things accurately. You`re correct in that it does come down to personal choice and I suppose that is the essence of the whole thing. Some people may be happy to persevere with the proprietary systems, but for myself I decided to do something about it and here we are. All good fun in the end and that`s what it should be. ¡Hola buenas tardes Gormo! I’ve been anxious to see the shunter’s pole and, armed with this video, I’m going to attempt a 3D printed version. Credit will of course be given when I eventually feature it in any of my own layout update videos. Un saludo. Gary

G`day Gary, Well good luck with the 3D printing and I hope it works for you. If you need any more detailed measurements I will be happy to provide you with them. I have an email specifically for this channel for private messages which you are most welcome to use. greatchesterfordjunction34@gmail.com All the best Gormo

Excellent work. I’m thinking, can I adapt your brainwave couplings to n gauge. 🤔
@greatchesterfordjunctionАй бұрын
Thanks Paul, It should work in any gauge. Scaling it down though means very fine work and smaller jigs etc.......it might be quite difficult. Worth a go though All the best Gormo
