Bubba doesn't need to be replaced, he just needs to grow and mature as a driver. This is the year where he really needs to start performing and he can't be in his own head. If he thinks that he needs to be replaced that just shows (imo btw) his unwillingness to grow and change his attitude. I understand that he's an emotional person, I get like that too. That's why he's one of my favorite drivers because I can relate to him. There have been times where I mess up and I just beat myself up for no reason. Calling myself a failure and just not having any confidence in myself. But I'm trying to work on that because if there's one thing my father has been cramming in my head is that if you want to improve you have to want it for yourself. That's what Bubba has to do. Grow, mature, and learn from your mistakes. Ik this comment probably sounds long and stupid but after hearing Bubba's interview it just shocked me. I think part of it is that Bubba Wallace probably has the biggest base of people that want to see him fail. Even the Kyle Busch hate comes from his attitude and actions as a driver. Bubba Wallace is hated by a lot of people for who he is and for a misunderstanding framed as a faked scandal. I also think being the only full time black driver in NASCAR with any real shot to win every Sunday is a weight no one can really fully understand. Many congrats to Tyler, the #45 Monster Energy team, and Kurt as well!
@joshuagray720 Жыл бұрын
23XI is definitely a team on the rise, for sure. Matter of fact, it seems as if they're on equal footing with JGR at the moment, and the fact that THEY were the ones to deliver Toyota its first win this season speaks volumes. Tyler and the #45 team had their fair share of bad luck the first few weeks, but it was a matter of time before they got their shit together. And I figured that Tyler was gonna be strong at COTA, but I didn't expect for him to be the class of the field lol. I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes a legitimate threat for the title as the season goes on. As for Bubba, I think I agree with Kenny Wallace's take that he should seek out a sports psychologist. It's very clear that he puts a lot of pressure on himself, and he knows for a fact that he is in race-winning equipment for a lot of venues on the schedule. But in the event that he and the #23 team has a bad day, it's kind of worrying to see him get so down on himself, and to be self-deprecating at times. He's been open about his depression, and maybe that's been getting to him? And it also doesn't help that, because he is only full-time Black driver in the Cup series, there's both a HUGE portion of the fanbase that roots for him heavy, and a HUGE portion of the fanbase that doesn't want him in NASCAR and routinely prays for his downfall. But even with the bad stretch of races that Bubba has had recently, there have been clear signs of improvement. He has maintained his speed from last year at the intermediates, and before disaster struck at COTA, he was running solidly in the Top-15, flirting with the Top-10. Hopefully he learn more from Tyler on how to tackle the road courses, and hopefully Kurt continues to coach up the both of them. And this stretch of races the next six weeks, 23XI (and Toyota for that matter) should have them all circled. Speaking of Kurt, I'm hoping that there's good news on recovery side of things for him. Would love to see him in the #67 for a handful of races. I feel like if hops in and is competitive right away, he could share that information with the younger drivers.
@pinkiepromise666 Жыл бұрын
He's definitely feeling the pressure; it's a put up or shut up year for him now that he has a younger teammate that can outrun him as opposed to a seasoned veteran. Remember at Auto Club, the 23 started off strong, but then completely fell off before getting wrecked. Las Vegas wasn't even a bad result for Bubba; he was top-10 for pretty much the entire day and came home with a top-5. Phoenix was somehow still a top-15 in a race where Bell and Reddick were the only Toyotas to not struggle. Overall, I think it's a little too much scrutiny over 23XI as a whole right now. This is make or break time for him and he needs to mentally get out of his own way so he can get the results he can be capable of with that machinery and not be such a hot head when things go sideways. As for Reddick, I could see him being a driver to build around in that 45 car after the unfortunate retirement of Kurt Busch. The question is, if Bubba underwhelms again and he gets the boot from Hamlin and MJ...who do you pick up to take his spot? I just don't know what the answer to that question is. Bubba needs to get outta his own head before he DOES get replaced… simple as that. He has the talent, the drive, and now the cars. Time to poop or get off the pot. I can’t blame him tho, he certainly wouldn’t be the first or last driver talent to choke his potential (Atwood comes to mind).

is Bubba seeing a sports psychologist? if he's not, he needs to. he's wayyyy too much in his head. also for some reason in my head I always call it "23 and me racing"

Bubba is a mid pack driver that has been supported because he is black. He is a great super speedway driver but he looks more and more like a MSNBC or Fox news driver.
@tylerandfriendsgaming1546 Жыл бұрын
Tyler Reddick showed that 23XI can win races and do what Roush did when Ricky was let go and ended up at a better pairing for his personal career. Bubba is in the same situation but also Reddick shouldn't have screwed over RCR when he could've been their franchise driver but he wanted greener pastures and RCR still won before he did.
@markjones2854 Жыл бұрын
Reddick didn’t screw RCR lmao. It was RCRs fault
@tylerandfriendsgaming1546 Жыл бұрын
@Mark Jones what do you call signing a contract for another team right after an extension is signed for the next year. He left RCR to be teammates with Bubba Wallace. It's the same equivalent of leaving RCR to become teammates with Cody Ware it's just stupid.

@lathanpankey2173 Жыл бұрын
@@bighand1530 I really think so bro. Denny & MJ have their lead driver, Reddick basically gets Joe Gibbs equipment, RCR gets a top 10 driver of all time for a discount, and KFB still gets a competitive ride. Both are in the playoffs so both teams get a slew of owner’s points that pay out at the end of the season. Literally everybody won. Even Joe Gibbs cause now there’s extra cash to put into the team and he still has 3 drivers who can win races

Kurt changed when he was dropped from top tier teams. Bubba is in a top funded team... He has nothing to be frustrated about! Maybe he needs to drive for RWR to see how much of a blessing it is to be with the 23XI?!
@jacekatalakis8316 Жыл бұрын
Something I'm wondering is how much pressure Bubba is under to perform and if 23XI is the right fit or him at all, I feel like with Denny and MJ calling the shots, Bubba is under way too much pressure IMO or several reasons and isn't coping well with it. I do wonder if it's the team holding him back, or if they need to shake up who is in and who is out of the 23 team and see if things improve. Slow starts for teams are not that uncommon, really. I mean. When it all clicks for Bubba, he has put together complete weekends that end up with him taking the win, and he's won races on merit and speed, as well as lucky wins. he's also arguably the face of 23XI for better or worse, and he's absolutely, I'd argue, having to live up to that. I wonder how it'd be if Bubba was just a driver, without all the pressures on him, so he could just focus in on driving the car of a weekend though.

I like Bubba alot. He needs to change his attitude. Being down in the dumps all the time and being negative just fuels his haters and just makes him less and less confident. Dude is talented and can run up front. Road courses are his weakest point and he qualified 11th. Nascar puts him out there and forces him in the eyes of everyone for obvious reasons but the results don’t match the hype. He’s not a bad driver, its just he doesn’t have the results to be hyped up. It ain’t his fault he’s being hyped up, nascar and everyone in the sport constantly wants to put him in the spotlight even though he said he doesn’t like it. Just causes a bunch of unnecessary standards and pressure on him. Yea he has to do his part as a driver and go out and win along with changing his attitude and stop being negative all the time.
@ZPaul_ Жыл бұрын
He can definitely run up there with the best of them. He just needs to get his shit together.
@RazgrizWing Жыл бұрын
Perhaps NASCAR could maybe stop giving him a spotlight. I know from a PR perspective and for the sport it looks good and everything, but perhaps giving him all spotlight and him being the only black driver in the sport at the top level is hurting him. If NASCAR even really does give him the spotlight, though he is in a lot of promotional material for the sport. NASCAR can continue and double down further on its initiatives to help those that come from less than privilege backgrounds into the sport, or perhaps not just only look at regional markets but also look at markets in terms of demographics. Perhaps they are doing that by having a race in LA and Chicago, but I dunno. I think if we had more diversity in the top level it would definitely take the pressure off, but then maybe that is only half of it or a even less of a portion of it. The rest is Bubba's own mind.

Bubba has not been bad this year At Daytona he was leading and got plowed from behind while leading which put him lap down most the race. He honestly could’ve potentially won if not got a top 5 finish if the 10 didn’t run out of talent Fontana he was up front most the day until Debris killed him Vegas ran top 10 all day Atlanta was his fault 100% Idk what happened at COTA but that was the best he’s ever looked at RCs ever. The talent is there and the team is there they just gotta put the pieces together and get the luck

2311? I think they're going to continue to better as time progresses. I like Kurts passion for the 45 , so hes going to continue to play some crucial role in the teams developement. Although I understand & can appreciate Bubba's frustration, I don't understand his comments about being replaced , I mean, ?¿ why would you say something like that with good sponsors backing you ?¿ Not to mention I have followed him since his K&N days, he seemed to have conducted himself a little better in those days. If sponsors cut ties with him , I wonder how detrimental that is going to be to 2311 racing.

Absolutely wild that you didn’t mention either of Bubba’s wins with 23XI racing, or his incredible step forward at the end of last season. FR. Even then, with Bubba's poor start, he still has a top 5 and managed to squeeze a top-15 out of his two incident-free races, which really is par with the rest of the Toyotas so far this year. Which really, name a race where more than two Toyotas looked strong this season. Daytona, they were nowhere, and Pastrana being the best finisher is criminal enough. Auto Club, the only one to ever come alive was Hamlin. 23 or the 20 might've, but the restart happened. Las Vegas, Bubba was entirely on par and Bell was kinda there. Phoenix was Reddick and Bell. Atlanta is frustrating cause if Bubba doesn't make the early mistake, he ends up with probable top-10 as the last cycle really benefited the Toyotas, who were a bit anonymous. COTA, copy and paste Phoenix. Bubba might've been that third Toyota, but then the mistake happened.
@AlHopeGig Жыл бұрын
@@K9RacingAndStuff Incredibly valid points. I was at Auto Club and it was so frustrating watching him fly through the field like it was nothing, got into the top 5, then whatever adjustments they made after the first round of pitstops started killing his car. Then he ended up overheating and DNFed…

Without watching the video I have two things to say. 1 Bubba is holding the team back he either needs to step away or hire a professional mental health something full time.2 The team never got enough respect because everybody kept calling it Michael Jordan's first race team it's not he owned a professional motorcycle racing team that did pretty damn good for not being a Factory team (top 3 in points multiple times)

I think Reddick is a star, and I'd go as far to say that he is the 2md best road racer behind Chase. With Bubba, hes just so inconsistent. Good at superspeedways, but other than that, I've never seen Bubba as good. If he doesnt make improvements by the end of this year, I say he should be replaced by JHN. I know that wont happen though with all the sponsors Bubba brings.

this may be a steamy take but what if the 23 car is weaker than the 45? When bubba hopped in the 45 car at the beginning of the playoffs, he won a real race and each time he ran the 45 car, he seemed to be consistent. Now put him back in the 23 car, that car is either not as powerful, or it just has issues. I might be wrong, but I think its something to think about.

The #45 car that Bubba drove was the #23 team. The #23 crew and equipment, but with the #45 number.

Well Bubba should be careful with his emotions, it's clear he's frustrated but he said it himself that he's worth a replacement. Sorry to say this but he's right, there should be a better talent in that seat. At the moment he seems to have difficulties setting up the car then again his tempor during a race etc, it all adds up. For me Bubba's lowest point was last year the senseless tantrum he displayed to Kyle Larson, it was just yeah... Anyway you'll see how Tyler Reddick will show that you should think with your head not with emotions.

I think 23XI is a good team though I think Hendrick and Trackhouse are better. I won't be surprised if Denny makes a deal with Job Gibbs and buys the 11 from him. Reddick is too soon to say how good he is. Also, I believe he came to 23XI early because of Kurt Busch's concussion. As for Bubba, I do like and I believe gets a bad rap because most NASCAR fans are racist assholes who bear false witness again Bubba (Is there any proof of him faking that noose incident? I highly doubt it). Anyway, he needs to get his head on the track otherwise MJ and Denny will go to a different direction after his contract is up, especially if that's true that other drivers want to drive the 23 car. Also, Rajah Caruth is coming.
@ironpanther2420 Жыл бұрын
First off, most Nascar fans are not racist. If that was the case, the entire organization wouldn't have stood with Bubba during the noose incident so fuck you for even saying that. Second, as far as Bubba's noose incident, despite the FBI ruling out it being a hate crime, he agreed to appear on a cable news network where he doubled down that it was in fact a hate crime despite the FBI findings. Then in his Netflix documentary, he tripled down on it being a hate crime. The man chose to be a race-baiter and slap everyone who stood with him in the face. He has earned and deserves every bit of hate he gets. The best thing that could happen for the sport would be for him to be fired and Rajah Caruth to replace him.
