Nick, the reason this game has so much more love from this community is that most of us grew up playing on the Wii. There was a Wii port of all the cars games on the PS2, but the big difference between the two is that in the ps2 port you press a button to jump, but the wii port doesn't have that ability. in Mater National, they fixed that and allowed you to use the motion controls of the wii to jump. The original also came out in 2006, with mater national coming out a year later, so by the time most of us started playing video games, we just played the newer one, which was either mater national or race o rama.

@@Catt9ine you could, but as a kid it was difficult to figure out. Since it was motion controls, 4 year old me played mater national because I could understand the controls. Like I know there was a way to jump, but if a kid can't figure out the controls to a kids game, they aren't going to play it

there's actually a decently sized modding community around this game, which I'm active in, and the modders have recently managed to bring in characters from later games/movies in the franchise, as well as making NPC's playable, and bringing in maps from the first 3 games (Cars, Mater-National, Race-O-Rama)

Cars race o Rama is the best cars game hands down id definitely recommend playing that it’s not backwards compatible on Xbox tho so id pick it up now while you can and while it’s cheap lol

What I’ve heard about Owen Wilson is that he never uses his voice and video games except for cars one because I believe this was the time when Owen Wilson was still doing voice acting during the making of cars so he went ahead and did the dialogue for cars the video game, but he did a poor job of ithe wasn’t given it all compared to the movie
