Revisiting the MEGA D&S 5000 Automatic Car Wash in Holts Summit

[Recorded January 2013] This car wash really interested me the first time around. I've never seen so many automatic bays at a single car wash before. It looks like the owner closes 2 of them in the winter due to the cost of keeping a machine running in the cold. Follow me on:

Unless it is the lack of customers using the service, it doesn't make sense to close 2 of the 4 automatic bays in the Winter, because that's the time people go to these places, rather than doing it themselves at home on warmer climates. Around here, car washes are MOBBED in the Winter, nearly unused in the Summer.

You're right. I was at the Haffner's car wash in Methuen on Rt. 113 right off Rt. 213 and the line stretched all the way around, from 113 to the end of the wash! It's a touching car wash BTW.

Some ds models do tri foam but they do it from the sprayers that they use for everything

The automatic car washes up hear in Canada are all laser was 4000's (I think). They are very similar except that they have see-through hydraulic operated garage doors that open and close automatically when you enter/exit the wash to keep the warm air inside the wash as its cold in the winter and the bay is heated and yes there is an emergency exit in the wash should you not be able to drive out if a door should happen to get stuck and you have to get out. They are super busy in the winter.

These bays could have been put in at different times. The first two were 5000's and the other 2 are 6000s. :/

The one I go to near my work place is very similar to this one. It does a great job. I go quite a bit.

That's odd. These places are mobbed here in the Winter, and almost always untouched in the Summer. Then again, it's New England, so it's probably a luxury to wash your car at home, with only 3 good warm months.

UPDATE: I just looked on google maps and bays 1 and 2 got replaced. You should go revisit

Right down the street of my house there's this car wash called jet stream car wash and it has 2 bays that has a laser wash G5 S-series

You were in bay 4 last time because the bay 3 cash machine was off the hook or had a loose wire because it wasn’t working well. Fail. But anyways, good video.

What website do you find these car washes on? I am particularly looking for one with Automatic and Manual bay there are tunnels around here but I am looking specifically for Automatic and Manual. Do you know what website is best to find stuff?

Depends. If it's an area I know well (Jefferson City or St. Louis), I know where some are just from driving around town for years. For areas I don't know very well, I usually use Google Maps. However, not all car washes are tagged properly. It can be tough to find them if you don't know where to look.
