The fact that the 580 is still usable after 7 years says a lot about this GPU. RX 580 is also on par (a lot of the time) with something like a 3050 6GB and RX 6500 XT, that's probably why it's very impressive even in 2024.

I had a 2048sp rx 580 (basically a 570 in disguise) for 1 year and a half. It ran extremely hot, like 85-90 degree under load, although it performed very well, never ran into any driver issue. Coming from a gt 730, the rx 580 felt like extremely high-end for me. I recently upgraded to an rx 6600, couldn't be happier. If you don't play the latest and greatest titles at high setting, the good ol' rx 580 is more than enough.

@@SonekR its the gigabyte eagle one. Btw is it normal for my gpu clock to go higher than the advertised specs? Maximum clock is only 2491mhz but it always reaches 2664 when i'm gaming. This one is not the OC out of the box.

Sometimes the fps drops a bit when she plays very demanding mods with hundreds of objects on screen, but I would say thats where the processor cant handle it very well since its first gen Ryzen and the game only utilizes a single core. But the graphics card on its own is overkill for this game.

I would update that CPU to a 3600 increase the longevity of the build I have an ITX build with a 1650 S which is roughly around the same performance and most definitely saw a difference in performance just going from the 2600 to the 3600.

@@hiddenguy67 I would get a 6600XT you'll yield way better performance with an AMD CPU+ GPU combo SAM increases performance a decent amount compared to ReBAR. If that's out your budget a 5700XT for around 100 would be a solid buy much better than a 1070TI you'll be at 1080TI/3060 performance.

*Other people have tested the RX 580 with Alan Wake 2 after the mesh shaders update, eg the channel "54 FPS", and with a 4GB RX 580 it was hovering in the mid-20's for almost the entire test, at 1080P on FSR2 Balanced.* Resolution drops don't really change the performance much, similar to the launch version of the game (you'd get the same 2-3 FPS regardless of 160p or 1080P). But, 20+ FPS is a massive leap from the 2-3 FPS it was getting in my own test video back on launch, when running at 160p or even 1080P. It just shows how much they've optimized performance for mesh shader translation. That's like a 10x improvement.💯

After 6 years its still a capable card for playing games at 60fps in 1080p. I upgraded to a 7900xt and a 240hz 1080p monitor but returned them because its overkill for casual gaming from time to time. I'm happy with my rx580/7500f build with a 60hz 1080p monitor.

I share your mindset, I always play my single player games in 60fps with FG from Lossless scaling or in-game/mod if available to get 120hz experience. On multiplayer I tend to increase to 120fps or monitors refresh rate if possible without bottlenecking the GPU

RX 580 is a beast. I have i7 4770k , 32gb ddr3 1600mhz ram and the PowerColor Red Devil RX 580 8GB, the RX 580 performs like a champ. I usually play GTA 5 Online with maxed out settings except the MSAA, MSAA is turned off and i get a pretty smooth expeirence i get Constant 60 fps oh and i have Vsync on thats why i get 60 fps. You can turn Vsync off for more fps.

The RX 580 aged quite gracefully imo. I recently bought one for my sister's PC for just $50, and it's a Powercolor Red Devil Golden Sample edition. It clocks quite stably at 1490MHz core and 2250MHz memory, and runs the one game she's been wanting to play for a while - A Plague Tale Requiem. She played the prequel on the 3400G's iGPU (which is still running in her machine) and honestly native 1080p medium settings and high textures at a pretty consistent 35-40 fps w/o FG is more than good enough. I almost bought a 1060 6GB instead but that one got sold out before I could make a move XD The only thing that bothers me is the power consumption, because this particular unit with my overclock easily uses up 220W with spikes upto 260W on a Corsair VS450 450W 80+ White unit. I'm definitely going to have to get her a PSU upgrade next.

I just bought like my 18th 580 on eBay for around 55 bucks. I use them in build that i sell & give away. I also just picked up a batch of about 20 RX 480s that have been stripped down and have a mining bios installed. I'm going to try to source as many coolers for them that I can and hook them up with a gaming BIOS and throw them in some free "give away" builds. I absolutely HATE seeing decent gaming hardware go to the wayside. A local school wanted a few low end PC's to run a pixelart program on, I hooked them up with 5 first gen Ryzen systems with a rx 550 4gb in each. These cards can be used for absolutely anything it's just such a damn shame that 90% of them have been mind to death.

I have been rocking a used Rx580 with my Ryzen 5 1600 for the last three years now and I definitely feel I've got my money's worth. Playing Days Gone, Metro Exodus and some older titles and it's been great. I even do some video editing with DaVinci Resolve and as long as I don't get too crazy it has done that too. Gotta say I am eyeing an Rx5700 though if I can find the right price and a cpu upgrade too. Will always be fond of my Red Devil Rx580 though.

i bought my rx570 8gb sapphire nitro just before chip shortage in december 2019 for about 120$. In peak it's price raised to 350$ lol. Guy who sold me this card was ensuring me it was not used for crypto mining. Card is working without issues and max temperature is 60 celsius degrees. I've finished dying light 2 on 1440p monitor with fsr quality on 45-50 fps. I was impressed how card for such low price holds in this title.

The old card is still working great in my girlfriends PC and runs everything she throws at it just fine. I've ran the sapphire nitro+ Rx 590 for years, and it still holds it's own today. I just upgraded though to an Rx 6800 xt and hope it keeps me going for the next few years at least

yes i must say this card is the goat still handle games like a boss. i have rx 580 back then and replaced it by 5700xt and 5600xt and still having the 580 as my backup card

I'm still on an RX 480. It works fine for everything I throw at it like slightly older games, emulation, less demanding indie games, whatever. The performance is okay enough for me to play practically anything out there if I lower the settings enough. I don't see a need to upgrade to a better card. I'll get something else when the card breaks for some reason, until then I'll be happily using my 480.

Didn't own the RX 580, but the RX 570 8GB instead. This give me hope that the RTX 3060 can age just as well.

My current rig rocks this same exact XFX RX580, its really good for 1080p60 and i mainly play Euro Truck Simulator 2, Forza Horizon 5, NFS Payback. It's still going strong paired with my i5-10400F and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Still a great budget option

Last update broke RDR2 for me too. I have the same exact stutters on my RX 6700 non-XT and memory leaks in the VRAM. If I play for 20 minutes or + my VRAM used by the game reaches my max of 10 gb and the game breaks completely. Pretty annoying, I hope this is a AMD driver issue rather than the game itself.....

i have played last of us part 1 on emulator on rx 580 i was getting 35 to 45 fps max this card is really a beast even now with amd fsr on i can play new games like god war Ragnarok on 60fps with medium setting and texture and model on high i have purchased this card in 2019 this card This graphics card gets the job done❤

Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 580 + 144Hz Dispaly is all I need actually. dont play newer games anymore, theres too many games in my steam backlog already. I did take it apart and clean + repaste it ~2 years ago so temps still fine

I have exactly the same xfx model and paired with r7 3700x it's still delivering enough performance for me in 1080p, especially with SAM(rebar) mode, fsr and framegen modes in games. Wonderful card

Just got myself an RX 570, it was secondhand because I am cheap, but it was well preserved, almost like new and worth it the 50 bucks. Other similar cards were 60-80-100+.

1:25 amd slowed down a lot on😮 driver updates on this thing. It aged like a fine wine. So many lovely gaming memories with it since 2018. This card was my first gaming gpu and I love it. Will never forget. Now I transitioned to 4070 just 1 day ago before this video.
