revisiting the prospect of keeping my boat and figuring out how to bring it back to life!

I revisit Kiwa and try and figure out how I am going to get it to the tidal grid then clean it and get it out of where it is in Auckland. Ps if anyone is going north and would like a job to tow it to Mahurangi I would be happy to pay 500 bucks!

You can get insurance for haulout only from most hardstands or the insurance company based in Opua

Forget about tying up to the wharf at Panmure scrubbing off unless you want a fine.There is no cleaning of boats,unless its removing slight slime,As for a salthouse 25,not fast but comfortable.

Mahurangi north wards seems fine to grid,just Auckland for some unknown reason are against it.Your just returning what came from the sea but in Auckland must be removed to a bin.dont ask me why.Was ok 15 yrs ago.@@mycrazyboatlife

Scarf the mast if the rots not more than 1/2 the diamiter in place , Ease the rigging , Been there & done it , Use the dingy as a punt to move the boat .good luck

When you say about the mast maybe it could be fixed etc, it probably can but the part about "just dropping the mast" is so simple, thats a crane and and then another crane to put it back up. The cost of that is heaps and it's those things that need to be weighed up for you or prospective buyers unfortunately. This is the main problem with boats, the costs of fixing mount so high that it doesn't make sense to do it, you could buy another boat that is ready to go for similar money

Bollocks. You use a hiab truck. Put a ladder up as far as the spreaders and climb up and loop the strops from the hiab around the spreaders. Let the hiab take the weight and remove the last 3 remaining stays. piece of cake.
