Hyperfine Architecture Is there a way to organize sheets so that I can have, say CS as my first sheet and then A-xxx next etc. basically so I have to be in ascending order?
@HyperfineArchitecture6 жыл бұрын
Yes! Watch the video at about 2:00. The way I do what you’re asking is have a “0 - General” folder for my cover sheet and general project info sheets. This will sort before the 1 - Arch folder with all my Architectural drawings. Check out hyperfinearchitecture.com/Revit. You can get my project files with the full course.

I enjoyed the video, thanks it was easy to follow the instructions. I was trying to actually created two different project parameters so that some sheets fall into the Schematic design phase and some would fall into a Design Development category, however when i go into Brower Organization, i can only select one project sheet parameter at a time to display. How would i be able to create two separate sheet parameters to display under Sheets?
@HyperfineArchitecture2 жыл бұрын
Create one parameter and then create a second. Then edit your Browser Organization for sheets to sort by the two different parameter. You can have up to six. So you probably want to do the Phase first and then the drawing type second.

Off topic question, I looked around however can’t figure out…. In a family, say a “water closet”, I have dashed lines set up to depict required “clearances”. Works fine, however when I have the family inserted as an existing “water closet” the clearances show up as solid lines, when I have same exact family as “new construction” element, the clearance lines show up correctly as greyed out dashed lines. Anyway to have the family placed in existing phase to show dash in New Construction phase, besides manually overriding the lines? Basically the existing water closets in a building, I would like the clearance lines to remain, just as an existing element with the dash lines.
@HyperfineArchitecture2 жыл бұрын
It's being controlled by the Phase Filter override. Manage/Phases/Graphic Overrides then change Existing Projection/Surface so it is the same light grey color as before, but undo the override for the line pattern to not be solid. Then check this out :-) hyperfine.gumroad.com/l/revitV2

QUESTION: I have a large project with multiple buildings where I would like the elevations sheets, floor plan sheets to be grouped together and ultimately be plotted in sequence and not out of order. Can you please recommend some options or certain type of parameter? When you create sheets, some sheet names will be out of order. Example A201.1, A202.1 does not fall in sequence.
@HyperfineArchitecture Жыл бұрын
For organizing sheets within my project file I do what's in this video PLUS I add another parameter called "Sort Order". It's a Project Parameter assigned to Sheets as an Instance and uses a number. I get a little more control over sorting by adding this parameter and I can use it in my project browser and sheet index. For printing, Revit 2023 lets you manually adjust the actual plot order independently. For earlier version there were various plugins that can help, I think Revit Plot Manager might be one, but I never got around to using any of them.
@user-xc4eh4kp9n Жыл бұрын
Can you please elaborate more on "sort order" parameter? How can It be applied? I have 13 link building that need the sheet order to be correct. What I have noticed, revit has placed it in a different order? For instance, for building A: A221A & A222A sheets need to be group together. Yet revit has one on top and the other one way at the bottom.
@RubbinRobbin4 жыл бұрын
Very clever, if there was only a way to continue this organization through the printing process, for example. If i want my Zoning "z" to print based on this grouping instead of alphabetical before Architectural "A"

In this way you create also sheet for text documents like calculation, report ecc..?

You can make a sheet and not put drawings on it, just text within Revit.

Thanks a lot. I have a question, Is it possible to fix the list in the Sheet Folder menu? Because if I don't apply the name to any views then it disappears from the box
@HyperfineArchitecture4 жыл бұрын
The folder names only exist if you use them. If you delete all the views in a folder then it has no purpose anymore. If you need it back then create a view and type in the name of the folder and it will be added to the browser again.

My question is - may we copy sheets with all parameters? Because for example I have more than 30 parameters of a sheet and I need to create a new one with the same parameters
@HyperfineArchitecture2 жыл бұрын
If they are type parameters of the sheet, or type parameters of the project, they will be the same on all sheets of the same type. If they are instance parameters you can bulk edit by selecting all the sheets or by using a schedule.

Hello sir i just want to ask why my created project parameter is not readable in my browsers organization.
@HyperfineArchitecture2 жыл бұрын
I think the project parameter would have to be applied to Sheets or Views. Then you need to edit the Browser Organization so that it sorts using the parameter you made.

@HyperfineArchitecture4 жыл бұрын
It is literally the exact same process. Grouping = sorting. What specific question did you have?
@MichaelfromtheGraves4 жыл бұрын
@@HyperfineArchitecture by default you can only sort by Sheet Number and Scale. Do you know if it's possible to create a parameter that would show up as a sorting option?
@HyperfineArchitecture4 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand your question, maybe send me an email. It seems that what you are asking about is exactly what’s in the video...follow the same process but create the parameter you want for VIEWS instead of SHEETS.
@MichaelfromtheGraves4 жыл бұрын
@@HyperfineArchitecture at 3:39 you changed Grouping settings. Below that are Sorting settings. By default, the only two options in that drop-down are Sheet Number and Scale.
@HyperfineArchitecture4 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelfromtheGraves you are either looking in the wrong place or have a problem with your Revit install. There are at least a dozen options to group by Views and another 8 for Sort By, and that doesn't include any custom ones you make.
