There IS a workaround for the (possibly annoying) 2 things about topsolids. Both workarounds entail using either ACAD or Civil3D... 1. "Split toposolids - can't be rejoined". Solution: Save a 3D view (only show ALL the split toposolids to re-join) into a DWG file. Clean up the "splitting polylines" in ACAD, SaveAs a new DWG as a new "surface". Create new toposolid from this modified DWG. 2. "Make a toposolid by face from mass - the toposolid can't be edited as a normal toposolid". Solution: Kind of the same thing. Save 3D view into a DWG file. Re-import into Revit, then create new toposolid from imported DWG.
