Just pauding to comment 29 minutes through ..This is incredible to me I'm still a proud owner of a Spectrum 128 + 2(grey) which still works ..anyway little facts like knowing that the original Ocean team etc and other coders are still interested and getting involved with the advent of this new Spectrum obviously adds a lot of confidence all round. I never did take up programming seriously but I always meant to ..back in 1983 I was blessed or rather my brother Paul was blessed with a Commodore Vic 20 so I read the manual and had a go at BASIC but that's about it. I didn't go a lot further because there was half the world saying that computers and games were just a passing phase that could have been subconsciously why I didn't push myself that bit more I do really wish I had applied myself ..SO as a result I'll be learning more advanced programming via my old Speccy I have no idea how difficult I will find it I would appreciate any help and advice on this (online books, REAL books old and new) I just think now I have a second chance aged 44 (!) with the Spectrum Next I want to learn I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life regretting not at least making one playable game (other than Hangman or something on the CBM Vic 20 lol) I'm sure if I have managed to make one then it will transpire from there like a "bug" and I will keep on coding. Spectrum games gave me a lot of joy and the friends I had back then so it will be nice to return to the scene as it's returning to us but in a m ore professional manner ...BTW thanks guys for getting this video out there it's invaluable to have an inside scoop on the Spectrum Next I really hope there are people 20 plus years younger than me that understand just how cool and amazing the Spectrum was for us ..it just takes a few open minded teens/kids/20 somethings to get the whole bedroom programming going again and the effect will hopefully reach epidemic proportions:) Right that's me done for now I'm back to the video for the rest ...Peace n love x
