I love that you don't give advice. Like "you should do it this way" or "this is the best products to use." Nope, you literally just tell us what you are doing as you do it. Humbly and simply. Thank you

Hi, Very sharp table. The legs are cool. Really nice job. It isn't very often I watch a round mid century dining table get beautified. Most are usually square or rectangular. Always enjoy when you bring out your color sticks and steamer. Thanks

Drexel was a higher end manufacture in the 60’s. Heritage was the tops though. As time passed, one company bought out the other. I can’t remember who bought out who. Too many years have gone by. Nice refinishing job. And a good size table, Carol from California

That's a lovely table, and a nice shape, especially the legs. I wasn't very keen on the original colour, and really liked the final version you had - I was hoping you weren't going to make it very dark, even though the leaf did actually look nice dark. As always, I enjoyed watching you work, and how you explain the processes (watching you steaming out dents is somehow very satisfying!).
@That70sChannel Жыл бұрын
I always learn sonething from your videos 4:50 "Too smooth for stain. The stain may slide right off." This must be no problem I was having with a test project. I bought a Curtis Mathes console to practice on and I could not get stain to stick where the original finish and stain had worn off even after sanding. I probably sanded it too fine.

That's a lovely little table, so many little fix ups you had to take care of, but the result is perfect. MCM style was THE style when we were setting up our first home when we married, 60th anniversary next March, and I still love the style. The light warm colours and softened edges, it just seems more elegant to me than what came later. From what I see online, many folks agree. 😉 Great job on this one, it's just right. 👍😊

putting lye on cherry and other similar woods is a long standing aging technique. you can get some really interesting results depending on the wood. great video as usual. so chill, even when you're showing the aftermath of haste. you do such a good job with those hard fill sticks. i haven't used them enough to get that consistent with them.

It looks a lot better now. I think all refinished MC furniture always looks better because the woodgrain shows through more. The thing I don't like about furniture that was finished with toner lacquer is that it always obscures the woodgrain and makes the item look so bland. Well, that's my humble opinion.

I love your videos! This came out very nice. I have my parents' Drexel Declaration dining room table. When I had it and the leaves refinished, the leaves came out darker because they rarely saw the sunshine. I kept them that way, and I think it created a nice design element with the two tones.

The table is beautiful, specially the legs. It was worth going through the pain of matching the color of the leaf and the top. I would have preferred a little bit darker color..
