slowly but surely you are getting it to run. Have you checked the fuel pump and fuel pressure? have you tested the Crank Position Sensor? Yes some times a wonky one will cause a misfire but every bad one I have encountered on GM 3.8l and 3800 V6 have ether caused the car to not start at all or stall when it is warm or cause the engine to stall within 5- 15 seconds after it is started up. This is because the computer cannot tell the correct position so it does not engage the coils. No coils being engaged means no spark. The sensor probably works just a bit for the engine to fire and then it goes wonky and stops sending the signal. The car then thinks the engine is off and kills the spark. Try taking the crank sensors off and clean them. Both are near the oil filter. Good luck

It's a security problem your ecu does not recognize your key you need to program the key to the ecu or go to another car and take the ecu and the ignition with key and transplant them into your car as a set I worked on tons of flood cars and I've seen and dealt with it all

it might be the vats or passlock system, whatever they call it on those years. i have seen some GMs run for a few secs and die when the system kicks in. looks like the security light is always on even when it runs and dies. there are videos on how to bypass it.

Now I’m really curious what’s causing the car to not stay running. My guess is it something related to either the crank sensor or a security issue.

Def think it's security related. I'd start with a key re learn and go from there. Autel is great and much improved! But Pass key can be the devil.. u may end up needing a Tech 2 after all. Best of luck!

I'm surprised you didn't try to program the key to the new modules .. it's the 30 min sequence. 10 ,10 ,10 . . it should also have codes in the security module or the BCM for the key . like key not learned .
