It's great that you are posting these videos. There's no telling how many people you've inspired, even middle-aged women like me. I want to grow more of my own food this year. I enjoy your videos & look forward to your next one.

hey Sil at 8:38 it looks like the metal brace rubs agains the tires, it will make it much hater to pull the wagon for the donkey + more wear on the tires.... but love seeing non-motor usage on the land, so much nicer and quieter it's not crazy to live a simple life... it's GREAT! Keep it up, do exactly what makes you happy... Money didn't make people happy, they just gave more stress to people...

I'm not an expert, but I don't think you should give up on getting your mule trained to pull a cart or plough. It would be so helpful for you,and otherwise, she's just a drain on the land when grazing is poor in the hot summer months. From what I've seen on Ytube, there are people that can take even stubborn and aggresive animals and teach them to be useful. Maybe reach out to some other trainers locally to you, for help. Even humans need second chances after a bad start, after all. Animals are just like us, they can overcome bad starts, and learn to trust. I loved this video, by the way. So peaceful. I agree, the slow ways are good for human beings.

By the way, seeing all that rain falling, and the river so high, made me wonder whether water-catching techniques would be useful where you live? Swales or african smiles to encourage some of the water to stick around, rather than soak away into the river. The land where you live is very steep, but terraces or swales on contour might work for improving the growing conditions, especially since you mentioned that the soil is generally really poor, and can't hold moisture. I know you're adding loads of good stuff into your garden soil, which is great. I love seeing all your hard work, and am full of admiration for what you've achieved

The donkey was really chilled pulling the cart. Here in South Africa you do still see the locals using the carts especially in the rural towns. 👍

The grazing for the animals is looking amazing, I thought it was on your property, but taking them to the grazing is time consuming but worth it.

Definitely like the sock hat. That would be a good source of money maybe make some to support your way of life maybe even a logo or your channel name on the tag could be cool I would buy. PS Hope that I can have a mule one day to work with

Hello Sil, I hope that all is going well. The little stream sure does look more like a river at the moment. I didn't know that it could be as swollen as that. It would be wonderful to be able to capture some of that water and have it for the dry months. I have seen that a huge storm is brewing on that side of the world, I hope that it doesn't have any impact on you. We have been sweating here outside of Cape Town with 38° temperatures this week.❤️

I totally understand what you are saying and why, I'm hoping to start my journey to a simple self sustainable lifestyle this year if everything goes well. My house sale is almost finalised and then I want to travel through Europe and settle when I find the right place. The only thing that is up in the air at the moment is that I've just found out that my dad is ill, so that will definitely be keeping me here for now. You are looking great, happy and very motivating to someone with the same idea. Thanks as always for sharing and don't forget to check your buymeacoffee for my little contribution.❤️
