I have qualified bcom 1st year in 2013 and due to some reasons I stopped studies. If I qualify bcom 2 and 3rd year exam combined in this year will i be eligible for upsc exams? It is as per ugc guide lines? Is there any maximum time to complete undergraduation as per ugc?

Hi Sandeep! Hope you are doing well. We are glad that you want to begin your preparation for UPSC exam. Since you have not completed your B.com yet, you are not eligible for the exam now. We suggest you to follow below steps to speed up your preparation with your academic study going on: 1) Focus on your academic education now, but still, you can work on Current affairs and your writing skills from now on, as the syllabus of the Current Affairs in Civil Services Examination is very wide and, requires a long preparation time. 2)You can start reading current affairs from newspapers, magazines, government websites, press releases, etc. So, you can prepare for complete current affairs by following our website, magazine, and KZbin channel of Drishti IAS. 3)In addition, it is important to practice improving your writing style. You can adopt many easy ways to develop your writing style. The easiest way is to read an article of 1000-1500 words published in a newspaper or magazine carefully and then write the essence in about 250-300 words. This exercise will improve your writing style as well as the abbreviation skills that play an effective role in this test.
