Yes, he has much love for them guys. He has it for Hernandez as well. Hernandez, Corrales, & Gatti gave him a chance even tho their teams advised them not too. Especially Gatti, because at that time everybody was ducking PBF. But Gatti thought no way this lil dude can beat me. Gatti came in that night at 160lbs, out weighting Floyd by 19lbs.

Never weighed more than 5 lbs above the weight class he was fighting in, worked out everyday no matter how he felt or whatever situation he was dealing with. Boxers are a different breed especially the ones who stayed champion's for years. Roy was P4P #1 for a decade, could you imagine being the best in the world at your job, then doing that for 10 straight years!! Floyd was very smart with everything he done and if he wasn't that good at a particular thing he would hire the person who was while also surrounding himself with similar minded people.

One thing you can’t deny about Floyd is he was consistent and the more money he made, the smarter he moved and he was able to do all that whilst maintaining good health. No CTE, No Parkinson’s etc. That should be the goal if you’re in combat sports. Win as much as possible, make as much money as possible and maintain good health so that when you’re done with the sport, you can enjoy that family life.
@uniqueflower70435 жыл бұрын
M 360 Actually no one will know if he has CTE until he dies when they examine his brain. Parkinson’s will eventually show up or some other disease. It’s a combat sport that endures head trauma. Just speaking from a Nurse’s perspective. I think he surrounds himself with intelligent people so that he makes smart moves. He is not all that bright as you can tell from the interview itself. All over the place.
@M360-w6o5 жыл бұрын
unique flower I see where you’re coming from, I’m just saying in comparison to previous fighters, especially at an elite level, he’s done pretty well to maintain a good level of health because his fighting style has always been to hit and not get hit, unlike other fighters, I’m not saying he hasn’t experienced damages to his brain or body at all. Floyd may not be book smart but he’s street and life smart and he’s been able to navigate through a sport that historically exploits its fighters like we’ve seen with fighters like Mike Tyson, who experienced a lot of leeches at his height, losing millions of dollars due to having the wrong people around him as he elevated to new heights. Let’s not judge a book by its cover. But he definitely surrounds himself with smart people, that’s what successful people do, they surround themselves with people that are better in certain areas than themselves.

I pity these other black boxers in the game now, they lack the composure of Floyd and his ability to calmly handle the system at their game. He stayed off drugs and alcohol which was key. He was methodical in his approach with the system. Stayed calm when he should have blown hot. Wise. He was the best trash talker but knew when to trash-talk and when not to. Floyd is a genius. We might never ever get such a specimen again in boxing.

the goat 🐐 We can agree to disagree, your ability to read or not has very little to do with what we learn and come to understand through our life experiences, actual experiences gives us abundance better known as an opportunity my King, what we choose to do with those opportunities is what illuminates whether it was a wise and beneficial decision or nah! To add to your point there is 20 billionaires on record that dropped out of college. 9 billionaires that dropped out of Highschool and a few of them cannot read or write, that tells me these people knew how to make brilliant decisions and shaped today’s society based off their vision. 🤩I think I can learn from any person that’s self made and can overcome obstacles without the ability to read, really inspires me to understand there are no fucking excuses🤷🏽♀️
