Thanks, Joe! Much appreciated. I love this Tarantula, it's a joy to fly. Yeah, 'locked-in' is a great way to describe how this kite feels. When I switch to the XX Super Tarantula after flying the RX Super Spider, it feels ultra-precise. When flying the Super Spider on the 15 inch handles, it's using your computer with the mouse sensitivity turned up. So when I switch to the Super Tarantula, my muscle-memory is still tuned in to the Super Spider, and I perceive the duration of my movements to be much longer, giving me more time to get them right. With the Tarantula, it's another step in that direction.

Cheers RSpills! If I was looking at it purely as a box-ticking exercise, I'd choose the Blast. This is because it flies well in light winds, has two modes of flight with its two leading edges, and it can handle stronger winds. However, in the strong wind situations I mostly find myself in, the Blast is best suited to flying on longer lines and cutting big shapes in the sky. I'm all about short lines and small, intricate moves - which the Tarantulas are better suited for.

Do you prefer the XX Tarantula to the standard XX in identical (lighter) winds? (I actually already bought a Blast after watching your Blast videos. 😆 🪁)

@@HolyCannolis Cheers! The Blast is an awesome kite. It's been my go-to for the very lightest winds since I got it. When flying in light winds, I use the light leading edge when I want the handling to be funky and bouncy, and the heavy when I want to slide. That sliding motion has changed the way I fly the other kites; I find myself wanting to slide all of them, and enjoy figuring out how to mimic what the Blast does. In the very lightest of winds, I think you'd be good with either the standard XX or the Tarantula. As you're generating your own lift with your movements in those situations, the differences in handling are not that apparent because the sail and frame are not under stress. When the wind picks up, however, it's a bit different. The standard XX was the first Rev I bought when I first got back into the hobby a couple of years ago, but I struggled to get on with the way it handled. I always preferred the Rev 2 when I flew as a kid, and I found the XX's movements to be too sedate for my liking, my dive-stops and turns were too soft. So I bought the 15 inch handles, and although the increased throw helped a lot, the movements still weren't snappy enough for me: - The middle portion of the XX's sail billows when the wind picks up, this billowing pushes back against your controls when you reverse. - The pressure on the sail bows the leading edge, which reduces that funky bounce you get when you stop or clock turn. The vented middle section on the Spider and Tarantula solves the billowing problem; they don't feel like they're fighting back against going backwards. And the vented outer wings of the Super Spider and Super Tarantula drastically reduce the amount of leading edge bowing. Additionally, with less sail, these vented kites feel lighter and more agile. It's a combination of these factors that makes me gravitate toward the vented models. They feel right when I fly them, and they never argue with what I'm trying to do.

I have a question. Breaking line connected more to the handle or to the bottom of the line ? I have 2 Knots on the breaking line and connected them first time to the end of the line but the Breaking lines are Hanging down when kite is up 😢

Hey revbox! Thanks for telling me ! Me and my wife bought a xx tarantula too now. Next week we are in holidqys to fly it. We cant wait for it 😂 Do you have No Snag Handles too and can you tell me if there is a big difference between 13" and 15" Handles? I hope you do much more Videos !!! They are awesome and i like how clearly you speak english ! It sounds great and its easy to understand for German Idiots 😂

@@klausiexkern6148 No problem! Apologies for the late response, KZbin never notifies me of new comments. The 15" handles provide sharper control, it is like turning your mouse sensitivity up. I prefer more sensitive controls because they give me very sudden stops and turns.
