Their Kick Starter claims they came up with a break through design without screws? I have 150 yo Stanley calipers just like this in boxwood. If you want a metal version to use as a straight edge for cutting, Home Depot sell a similar one in brass for $10. I think this falls into the titanium EDC pocket litter category for people willing to spend $109 on stuff like this.
