So I finally started playing Stormblood after re-playing through both A Realm Reborn and Heavensward on my alt character Fio! And I thought this song was beautifully written so just had to do a cover of it.
I'm not finished the story yet so don't post any spoilers!

it's never cease to amaze me how the producers of ffxiv keep their stories and music content tight intertwined. This song is by itself leaving quite the impact. And with the story behind it - this is just something that burns into your heart and leaves it's mark (or rather scar at this point). This is what real art should be look like.

It's a joke about how Square ripped apart the game that became Deus Ex: Mankind Divided so they could sell the whole story as multiple planned games. Going to be doing it to the Final Fantasy VII remaster too, apparently, so let it be known you're not the only Final Fantasy fan they're treating poorly these days.

To be fair, think about just how much content any decent FFVII remake would require. It was originally released on three discs: A trilogy isn't unreasonable, even if the probable price makes me cry.

It's really not. The original takes an average of about 60 hours to beat if you just do the main stuff. Even accounting for all the extra sidequests and such they'll hack on to the remaster, there's no justification for it costing more than the $60 premium for games these days. Meanwhile, you look at a game like Persona 5 where the main story takes you almost 130 hours to beat, and there's no way to justify charging us what will likely be close to the price of three full games just to play a game everyone has already played before, only now it's prettier and no longer uses turn based combat. And that's only looking at the raw time investment each of these games has, which is a bad way to measure the worth of games overall but is one of the few objective metrics you can compare games by. Maybe if each third only costs $20, but that's definitely not going to be the case if they're using the Deus Ex model as their testing ground (and they are). Not to mention all the microtransactions, DLC, season passes, and lootboxes they for sure - and remember my words in five years when we get the next update on the remaster - will slap into each installment, and all you're look at is just a cynical way to charge people three times for a game that's already been made before. Basically, I trust the company that made Final Fantasy All the Bravest about as much as I trust Warner Bros. to have a competent PC port for whatever the next Arkham game turns out to be. There are games being made today with as much or more content in them than the remaster will have (assuming it ever materializes before we all die) that we don't have to buy for a combined $180+numerous add ons. Game publishers are liars who run an industry built on lies and deceit, so I have no reason to believe there's some actual justification beyond normal comprehension why this game of all games (the one they don't have any problem putting off for decades at a time because they know they'll rake in billions of dollars no matter when they release it or how good it actually ends up being) needs to be sold to us three times.
