This design is made by 3 or 4 Turkish companies. I have the 18.5” model from Landor Arms. Extremely heavy double action and you get hit in the face with unburnt powder not to mention how much powder residue escapes and coats the cyclinder, receiver and forend. The most dirty gun I’ve ever owned.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Undue stress on the crane. Just because it looks cool, or you see it in a Hollywood movie, does not make it the thing to do. Another thing people do is to spin the cylinder making a clicking noise. This is murder on the cylinder indexing notches and bottom cylinder locking pin. Fold the cylinder closed into the frame and index the cylinder. That's all. Of course... if you don't care for the gun much...HAVE AT IT!

This one is particularly small even for a .410, so probably not the best example. The stock has an awkwardly short length of pull and the barrel is only about 10" because it keeps the overall length under 26" to comply with weirdo Canadian gun restrictions. Nevertheless it is a really cool niche gun. We can't get them in the US, but I'd have one in a heartbeat if I could.

The "short" (heh) answer is yes. Long arms go by total length, barrels are not an issue. Technically I could have a gun with a 10 MM barrel but a really long stock and it'd be legal. But a pistol with a barrel that is less then 105 MM is illegal... cuz... some reason. As it is illegal to carry any handgun or long arm anyways you'd think it wouldn't make a difference. Anyways, yes the gun is legal in Canada, and good luck finding one.

There are no barrel length requirements in Canada(for long guns), per se, just that the long gun must be 26" in overall length. There are Chinese copies of Remington 870s here with 8.5" barrels. *Exception*: a semi-automatic, centre-fire rifle must have a barrel length of 18.5" to be classified as Non-Restricted, the lowest level of firearms classification here. If it's less than 18.5" but still longer than 26" OAL, then it's Restricted, which limits where it can be fired and what can be done with it(i.e. on approved ranges only/no hunting).

Precisely. The flash gap has a tendency to burn anything within an inch or two close to the revolver cylinder. It's one of the reason the Americans tested out the Colt Revolver Rifle and never went back to using it, favoring the lever action rifles instead. That, and the disastrous tendency to chain fire the entire cylinder.

The.410 is just another shot shell, just tiny. It was the first shotgun I used as at the time I was also tiny. Not only does the .410 have the ability to put a small pattern of really dense shot downrange at room level range but can also fire not only slugs but also .45 long colt bullets.

It's incredibly practical for home defense with specific 410 defensive shells. Slings five 9mm diameter buckshor with 1 trigger pull and no recoil and without a super long barrel. 5 inch spread at 20 yards. I can do a cylinder dump in 2 seconds=25 holes.
