So, are both of these totally different contexts or same? And the rest of the explanation which you gave about the poet coming out of closet and talking about his homosexual relationship, do involve another person. So even if he talks about trying to find his identity through the poem, the poem can not be totally about himself, is this right? ( Also because he says, "we never write", "you are waiting", "writing this for you")

I absolutely loved the interpretation based on gender and identity. But ma'am I have a curiosity. Can "knotting the tie" allude to a sense of suicide? Like the poet sometimes wants to end their life due to the despair but at this very moment the thought of good memories of love and the thought of their lover waiting somehow stop him.

Ma'am I've a query While writing a critical appreciation or any other answer related to the poem. How will we address the lover of the speaker. Shall we address the lover as 'the/that person' or as 'she'? Because in our books the lover has been addressed as She

"A mistake of course " ma'am you misinterpreted this line .in this part the speaker, lover can not reciprocate his beloved that he love her because a person like his who suffer from a kind of intervorted nature can not reciprocate with other. So, he can not achieve his love or full fill his love. That's why it is a mistake.

I don't think poem is that complicated actually as we(critics) makes it ! It's a simple poem written for poet's beloved who is now she not with him.... And poet do not want to reveal her identity as he respect her feelings and probably she with somebody else(married to somebody) now... So poet not want to give a hint to anybody... That's why he didn't provide us any hint ! However, as a man even I love faded and plain colours... Even I had wrote few poems for a girl who is no more with me... But you won't be able to get any hint from those poems about whom I'm talking, now I'm afraid that critics may prove me a gay in future for this....! And yeah, I feel it was a mistake because I lost my time I spend with her, the time which I could actually use for a better cause, because today neither I got her nor I got those things I sacrificed for her(time & opportunities). So basically it makes me feel that it was a mistake !
