I've been to a bunch of shawarma joints in Clifton and Paterson. Jersey definitely has a great Mideastern scene. The mixed meat stick is Kefta Kebab. There's a couple of knock-out restaurants in Brooklyn (Beyti Turkish Kebab and Karam) you gotta check out. Maybe you know someone in the 5 boros that might take you one day.
