Just got mine today. Thesaurus time. Organic. Sweat. Mean. Swetty. Righteous. Loud. Soft. Creamy. Velvety. Crisp. Cutting. Soothing. Dirty. Crunchy. Salty. Spicy. Most of all, inspiring. 35 years of playing. Every peddle I've ever purchased either underwhelmed, completely bombed or met expectations. This peddle brings me very nearly to tears. It exceeds all expectations.

Of all the REVV-pedals I like this one the most bec it would fit my playingstyle best and it's so versatile. Have to praise you (again) for such a fantastic intro. You played quite emotional. And that's whats music about!

Beautiful intro piece, Shawn. Kind of a Michael Landau vibe. Gorgeous.

I've been waiting for your demo of this pedal! Beautiful intro piece, great choice to go with a slow, bluesy ballad, and lovely soloing (what else would one expect from Shawn Tubbs?!). This seems like a really useful pedal; the G3 & G4 look like tons of fun, but I don't often have occasion to use that much gain!

You are an amazing guitar player with plenty of emotion and expression in your playing which are more important for me than technique…I want to ask you something ..do you use any noise gates when you play live?

BEST DEMO TRACK EVER! I must admit, I totally smashed the like button before even watching this. I think this is going to be the best one of the three for sure. Knowing that all the prog guys scooped up the Blue G3 (myself included) and the guys that wanted ‘more’ went for the G4, it seems like this one is the overdrive for the rest of us. 😏 Love it man! Shawn, that’s gotta be the most into it I think I’ve ever seen you doing a demo. So much SOUL! Love it love it love it 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 Lastly, that was the absolute worst pedal tease from you and the Revv boys of any pedal tease I think I’ve ever experienced. I’m mad sad and elated all at the same time. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think I’ll go play some drums or something other then guitar now. 🤦🏽♂️😭🤓 #RevvG2

This video made me think of a question I'm going to ask Dave Friedman. "Why do solid state amps suck when boutique amp builders can make pedals that mimic the sound of their tube amps?"
@mattbsox5 жыл бұрын
in general i agree with your sentament but my quilter amp i solid state and sounds amazing.
@MrDrTheJniac3 жыл бұрын
@@0megalul309 Solid state amps usually have no need for an output transformer. That is one of their many advantages.
@MrDrTheJniac3 жыл бұрын
The simple answer is that solid state amps don't suck. A cheap piece of rubbish amp connected to a subpar speaker will not deliver the performance of a high-quality product, and whether the rubbish amp is using chips or tubes is largely irrelevant. Part of the problem is that guitarists have a strange, and irrational, aversion to solid state amplifiers, so companies are discouraged from creating high-quality solid state gear. Not always though; Orange has a pretty great solid state head, and Fender impressed quite a lot of people with their Tone Master line.
@MrDrTheJniac3 жыл бұрын
@@0megalul309 The class of the amplifier has nothing to do with the output transformer. It has to do with how the amp actually takes the incoming signal and produces its output. Class D amps work by very quickly switching between two opposite voltages, and then using an output filter to smooth the output into a proper audio signal. See here (www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/class-d-amplifiers-101.7355/) for a more detailed explanation.

What's with the 'fizzle' on top of the notes as they decay to low level? Sounds a bit unnatural to me. I've been experimenting with the G4 circuit on a breadboard and have observed the same fizzle as a result of the Op-amps being pushed. A different sound to diode clipping.
