I had a real moment during this video…about our beliefs, and history…I’m in Canada, grands came here from Islay, and I got bits and pieces of what it is to be Scottish. But your videos help me connect in a way I wasn’t expecting.

I think it’s a great idea to re-wild the Campsie Fells into a natural woodland, as running along the Central Belt of Scotland, they are more accessible to millions of Scots than sat the Highlands and Borders. Especially since I have driven along the foot of these hills on both north and south sides hundreds of times, but never actually been up there, thinking it’s probably barren and uninteresting.

Would make the cycle up the Crow Road even better!

Definitely! In one of the papers we are writing we argue for better paths, cycling and walking, throughout the campsies. A forest would make these cycle paths amazing.

I congratulate you on such an informative and emotive video! It is a real global issue, and many are suffering through no fault of their own, as demonstrated at the COP26. Scotland has her own part to play in the local and global issues, and indeed 'lets do local' in the hope that it has a border impact. Sadly, as capitalism has grown, not only has the world become a smaller place, but it is now owned by a few! Vast swathes of land planted out in trees for 10 or 20 years, to be cut down, leaving a deeply scared surface, an eyesore, invariably for a similar amount of time. Given a chance, nature will take back what has been taken from her. Chernobyl in Russia is a clear example, where earth has been tested through nuclear fallout, to triumph through the natural regeneration of vegetation and tree growth. My heart aches at the destruction that is happening in the Brazilian rainforest of the Amazon. Brazil isn't the only areas, however, they are in the eyes of the world at present. Does this president have no idea the impact he is making on the world, all in the name of commercialisation! Why are world leaders not taking more action.. Don't these people with all the money realise, that once they have drawn every last once of life from Mother Earth, they will have no where to spend their money.. Feckin EEjits!!!! Wake up and let's all work together to make this a more socially responsible and loving world. So much hate and greed generated by, 'I must have' commercialism. or, more bluntly 'F*ck you Jack, I am alright'! I have to admit, I work everyday, I take a train for my commute, I do own a car, so within all statements involving this despair we have created, there is a certain amount of hypocrisy. I am caught up in the cycle, a victim, if you like of circumstance. A mesh so tightly interwoven, it is difficult to know how to unpick it. I would love to say 'f*ck it' and remove myself from the rat race, but alas I am on the tread mill. I try to do my bit, but is it enough? As for the Campsie Fells, I am surprised that natural forestation hasn't happened there. Trees nestling in the sheltered areas, but not branching out to the more exposed areas. The region is well known for its rain fall, so perhaps the ground is just too wet? Anyway, thanks again for your wonderful work in informing us all of the nature on our doorstep... And, I can't believe you don't like sheep... Baaaaaa. Take care!

Good video but what is your "Call to Action"? What do you want people to do (other than share this video) ? As a local person, I'm confused. Cheers.

We are in the latter stages of establishing the campaign, and once that's set up fully, we will have specifics. Please join the facebook group (if you use it) to keep up to date. Cheers

"If she can heal herself..." then why is it irreversible?

Yes, rewild this area. I do have a question. It was once tropical then glaciated, and everything in between, why is this cycle man-made? Irreversible climate change? Please tone down the rhetoric. Why are you not planting tropical trees to rewild as it was millions ago?
