REWIND IS OVER??? Toonami News Update December 21, 2024

Toonami Rewind will come to an end at the end of 2024. Uzumaki marathon coming on January 4th, and Naruto will come to the block starting January 11th.

Sad Times as a Toonami Fan to see Toonami Rewind ends right before it truly have any potential to shines due to an numbers of factors (including Family Guy Returns on Adult Swim) but hopefully Sailor Moon Season 2 (Sailor Moon R) or My Hero Academia Season 7 will premiere on The Saturday Night Block either on January 25 (Replacing Rick And Morty: The Anime with Invincible Fight Girl Season 1 Reruns sliding to on 3am) or February 22 (Replacing Mashle Season 1)🤞

Here's the shows that I want Toonami to air on Saturday/Sunday midnight on Adult Swim: 1. Sailor Moon R (including S, SuperS, and Sailor Stars) 2. Dragon Ball Daima 3. My Hero Academia season 7 4. Dandadan 5. Bleach (2024 anime)

Daima/My Hero sesaon 7 IS likely but Japan needs to finish it first Dr Stone I believe IS getting a 3rd season in Japan but it won't be getting a Toonami dub any time soon.

12/27 2024 just 4-5 months later roughly from Toonami Resinds first airing in Swpt 2024. January looks like majority reruns of Naruto back on the Toonami back,reruns of DBZ Kai,reruns of IFG,reruns of Blue Exorcist, reruns of T&M thr anime,new episodes of Mashie, and Toonami is still absolutely behind on One apiece where it is on the Fub for digital FVD sales and sun on Japan. There won’t be aby jee shows until March after Mashie finishes its run in 7 more weeks minusing the Xmas and NYD marathons and reruns. Not until March/Apeil will be a replace for IFG’s reruns. 19 more weeks minus the holidays to Ao No Exoecist’s reruns replacement. Lazarus still TBD 2-0-25 probably spring or summer release and Roostet Fighter sometime unknown? 2024 was a disappointing year with the poorly adapted Idimaki and the mediocre release of Ninja z Kamui. We still got AOT The Final Act Part II back in January’s dub on Toonami. Second season of MAWS in thr summer. Naruto Shippuden ended after 10-11 years. I think Lytoris Refoil was on Toonami this year as well as MHA S6 and DS S2 and S3(with S1.5 marathon). Hopefully we can get the last two seasons of MHA,thr last season of Mkb Psycho 100, the recent DS season,possibly Chainsaw Man Hell’s Paradise JJK Apu x Familu,and classics like a cowboy Behop and Putlae Star,dub and sun releases happening simultaneously and Dr Stone final season on thr block with possible Ao Jo exorcist’s S3-4 on the block too?

A sign that Toonami is really not doing well financially. With only like Mashle and One Piece being premiered on TV I believe but nothing new or any reason to tune in Toonami. I remember how amazing 2018 scheduling was. Its nothing compared to that and MHA Season 7 should have been on Toonami already so Toonami is doing bad economically it seems…

remember _Toonami Rising Sun_ program block? its basically same thing for why it didn’t last long but with Naruto coming back: thats gonna be Toonami’s fate that its gonna be cancelled just like CN Toonami was cancelled cause of Naruto filler episodes after Naruto vs Sasuke fight, not only that, they are promoting the live action movie thats been in development hell Rick and Morty the anime (by the time I’m writing this) theres only 3 episodes left before it leaves Dragon Ball Z Kai is promoting Sparking Zero’s release & Daima teasing to air on Toonami in Dub (while Japanese dub has 8 eps left) but at same time they love to promote Yamcha’s Japanese VA controversy (involve assault women and abortions)

I can only hope Lazurus somehow saves the station cause...yikes. Y'know its ironic that Toonami Re-wind went out with Goku going Super Saiyan cause Freiza basically represented Network TV, Mid-Toonami was Krillian, and Goku represents the Old school Toonami Fans. Honest, I just to watch my own Anime at this Point!

Pretty weak start for Toonami 2025. Also I'm surprised nobody mentioned this yet but I hear they're gonna air this new anime called "Lazarus" which I think is related to Cowboy bebop. So hopefully cowboy bebop will return to bring back the iconic feeling

Cartoon Network and Toonami are dead. If they really wanted the block to succeed they should have aired episodes of the original DBZ broadcast(falconer soundtrack). That would have pulled in better ratings than Kai because they're not episodes you can easily access on streaming and it would have been true nostalgia. The original appeal of toonami is that you're getting different types of shows that you can't find anywhere else. There's no point in tuning in to Toonami to watch popular shows I can easily find on streaming platforms. They should have also gave the block more than just 1 day. They should have given it a full week like the original run. Mixing the block with different anime of old and new. They should have also used toonami to bring back action cartoons of old and new. Introducing new generation to cartoons and anime of old while introducing old generations to newer anime and cartoons. You can't expect any type of big results if you barely try and give minimal effort.

It was a good run for Toonami to air weekday afternoons again just like the good old days from my childhood in the late 1990s and early 2000s. So I hopefully they will get Sailor Moon R, My Hero Academia season 7, Dragon Ball Daima, and more.

@@LeonTheSaint44 Sailor Moon was the very first anime that I got into anime when I was a toddler back then in the fall of 1995, even though it's too girlish. But I appreciate that the show picked up by DiC Entertainment to air on US television syndication. Then a two years later until September 20, 1997, my young brother introduced to me into Dragon Ball when Dragon Ball Z was aired from syndication, then on the following year, Pokémon in 1998, and then Digimon in 1999. Those were the first four anime shows that I started with when I was a kid. Also I started watching Toonami program block on Cartoon Network on May 24-28, 1999 during the Dragon Ball Z marathon (DBZ20XL) at that time.
