See, my theory about the egg getting on board the Sulaco was this: When the Queen ripped herself free from the delivery system, she ended her own life in a manner similar to how a bee ends its own life when it stings something. We see the Queen delivering eggs but stops when she notices Ripley, she very well could have an egg "in the chamber" so to speak as a final measure to secure the survival of the hive with a royal facehugger. This final royal egg would be located just above where the delivery system was attached inside the body of the Queen. The egg then dropped free while chasing Newt as the egg appears to look like it just fell and ended up sticking the wall.

I agree, it's the only thing that really makes sense other than Bishop doing it which there's no real evidence for.
@tomwhiting6900
@tomwhiting6900 Жыл бұрын
But everyone is forgetting one crucial fact.....the egg was in the cryogenic sleep compartment, not the cargo deck. There is no way that even if the queen had an egg with her that she could have gotten it into the cryogenic sleep compartment 5 decks up from the cargo deck. And saying Bishop did it is a no go also. Even if he brought on onboard the drop ship he was then immediately ripped in half negating an chance that he could have planted it in the cryogenic sleep compartment. Unfortunately the only explaination for this is....20th century fox needed a way to make a sequel, so frak logic, we need an egg in there.
@thefourmoodgroups2589
@thefourmoodgroups2589 Жыл бұрын
@@tomwhiting6900 Of course you're right about the "needing a sequel" situation. Aliens wasn't written to have a sequel and the writers for the follow up got a little fast and loose. BUT, if you want to try to make up an explanation, the "one egg in the queen's chamber" thing could work. What if the egg was wherever, cargo deck as you say, and this particular one hatched without an organism near to it (the films only imply this is a rule, so it doesn't have to be one). Then, once that face hugger is birthed, that little critter could get into some vents and crevasses quickly enough to get into the cryochamber. Maybe?

It also doesn't excuse Sulaco's horrible safety procedures. There's a fire- let's not wake anyone up and just shoot them into space.

@@johnmcnamara8741 that and the fact that once in orbit everyone left the ship with not a single crewman onboard to monitor things. What if the colony's transmitter had been destroyed? No way to pilot the other dropship by remote. They'd have been screwed. Having one person stay onboard would be a logical back up plan.

Why is Ridley Scott the authority on all things Alien? He was the director, not the writer. My reaction to most of this was, "There's a 30-year gap between Alien and Prometheus. That's why the continuity doesn't add up, and it doesn't really matter."

I love Ridley Scott, but he has a terrible habit of cutting things that don’t need to be cut. Blade Runner, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Jerry Goldsmith’s Legend score are prime examples of this. Prometheus and Covenant were just the latest victims. You say that David straight up invented the Xenomorph in Covenant. He actually did not. Granted, this wasn’t very well explained, but David merely discovered what the Engineers had already created centuries before, and was trying to replicate it. He was having trouble at first, before the Covenant arrived, because wiping out the Engineers on the planet left him without potential hosts. I think the derelict in Alien was there long before the Covenant ever took flight. Perhaps we’ll get some more deleted scenes in the future that explain things better, like Prometheus. Maybe even a proper director’s cut, since that’s often the best way to see his films, because like I said, the man cuts WAY too much stuff, lol.
@jazcc
@jazcc Жыл бұрын
Is he usually the editor of his films? I ask only because unfortunately producers and editors love to cut, cut , cut a film into incoherent messes and it’s usually not the director fault. A lot of producers don’t let the directors film the movie they want. But Ridley Scott is very well known so he might be able to pull strings.

I have covenant on steel book edition. There are hours of bonus material in which you can even read David's notes. The xenomorph was created by David. Facts. He used parts from Shaw, baby engineers, creatures from the planet and the black goo to create the perfect organism.
@ITCamefromthePage
@ITCamefromthePage Жыл бұрын
I like to think that perhaps the Space Jockey predates even the Engineers and that the Engineers discovered that ship then retrofitted their technology based off of it. Then they broke down the eggs and transformed them into the Black Goo....that way David really just reverse engineered the Alien species not invented them. That way you can still have it both ways in which the Engineered made us but we still don't know who built the xenos. This would be even more supported if they kept the original Pyramid idea from the original scripts (hell it could still have been there given that the weather was so bad) so the idea of it being a holy ground for The Engineers and the basis of their society. THIS could even make AVPs still canon! AVP is still canon in the Predator Universe weirdly enough lol as it is referenced in the terrible 'The Predator'. That Bishop answer is kind of genius lol. I always thought that the Royal Facehugger might be in some form attached to the Queen and got into the ship by hitching a ride on the Queen. Great video!
@michaellangwaller
@michaellangwaller Жыл бұрын
I agree with this assessment. The movies support this theory. The Engineers did not create the Xenomorphs and may actually have worshipped them. My theory is that the space jockey may be a way older version of the Engineers and the Prometheus version is only a later, genetically modified version of the race. It is shown that the Engineers revere biological constructs over electronic ones (see the reaction to David by the engineer and the organic feel of their ships, technology, and buildings) and may have fiddled with their biology to optimize their space seeding. They use suits similar to the forms of their ancestors out of reverence. Alternately, the Engineers we see could be a special breed of space jockey that resulted from a seeding program and the new Engineers took over the job of the space jockeys. I could write a whole alternate canon on just that idea.
@aleksanderolbrych9157
@aleksanderolbrych9157 Жыл бұрын
@@michaellangwaller One thing that seems to agree is that the size of the Space Jokey and its' age do not fit the Prometheus lore. Still, I think Scott just wanted to retcon the old stuff and didn't bother with the details. E.g. in new movies Engineer ship don't seem biological, they seem to be made of stone. And I absolutely hate that... I also have a huge head canon in which the Engineers and human race are just artificial breeding constructs seeded aeons ago by xenomorphs who are actualy a hyper advanced (but lacking self-awareness and culture/society being instinct-driven) species which is currently dormant waiting for a better thermal condensation of the universe. However, I am afraid Ridley Scott is radicaly uninterested in anyone else's ideas.

Every Unanswered Questions episode is such a thought-provoking delight. A lot of loose ends were tied up and with better reasoning than what's presented in the latter films. I wouldn't disagree with anything. In regard to Bishop, everything he does could be subterfuge with the ultimate goal of preserving a specimen. Maybe he's just better than Ash at hiding it.

as for question #4, i always assumed the Queen just had that egg in her. before Ripley kicked down the proverbial nest door, she was attached to that ovipositor and we can see eggs flowing through it. when the queen has to suddenly and painfully rip herself off it, she was probably still in the middle of producing those eggs. in all the excitement of her getting on the ship, her whole brood dying, and hunting the ones that she knows did it, i always figured she intentionally changed the egg she still had in her using pheromones like an ant or bee. that piece of dialogue can retroactively be looked at as foreshadowing even.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Lance Henriksen in person at a con, once. Lovely gentleman, what a legend! Unfortunately I never asked him about Bishop II, it honestly never crossed my mind, & Alien 3 is hardly a fav of mine anyway. But I agree with Lance's own theory that Bishop II is probably an android, a special hybrid that could be a one of a kind model/version, hence why it is made to seem even more human. Not just the red "blood" - just because it's red & not white in this case does not prove it's real blood - but also that Bishop II seems more emotional, acting far more like David actually. And even if David did not exist by a longshot in the franchise when Alien 3 was made, if you wanna connect some possible dots you can argue now as an afterthought that Bishop II was not the first too emotional android. And from what we do see of Bishop II in Alien 3 it makes more sense that he is an android. He is creepy as hell. He was indeed sent as a familiar "face" for Ripley but that just increases the creepy factor, which serves a horror flick like this. We also know that Bishop II lies. He first claims he's there to help Ripley, to save her & remove the alien & have it destroyed. But as soon he realizes she intends to kill herself, taking the unborn queen with her, he reveals his true agenda, he wants the alien & very much so alive. Much is not clear about Bishop II but it is clear he is a liar. So he may say he is human & that the Bishop Ripley knew was made in his image. But that can be all BS. And, as many point out as well, Bishop II gets one hell of a blow to the head so the ear hangs off him. There's no way a human would still be awake, perhaps not even still alive after such a hit. And be so calm about his ear hanging like that. I agree with Lance, I think Bishop II is an android, one of his kind, one that no longer has the white blood.

The egg on the Sulaco? I think there’s a reasonable third solution that also explains the other anachronisms in the film: the whole movie is a nightmare Ripley has in cryosleep. Accepting the “Bobby Ewing” solution allows for the deaths of Newt, Hicks, and Bishop; explains the bizarre change to the Sulaco’s appearance as well as the cryopods being changed to resemble the ones from the Nostromo; as well as all the other nightmare imagery and dream logic throughout the movie. Of course, I highly doubt this was The intention of Fincher or anyone else, but in retrospect it works, and viewed through this lens it makes Alien3 (the assembly cut anyway) into a pretty decent flick.

I always thought they explained that Burke put the eggs on the ship before getting killed. Vickers is an android because Weyland needed an Eve for his Adam. Vickers is version 2.0 and designed not as perfect as David. When she calls Weyland "father" it's not literal. She's not biologically his daughter though he did create her. The only way we can really know is if Vickers is an android is we get a close up of her fingertips. In a close-up shot of David with black goo on it before he puts it into the drink you can see the Weyland logo under his fingerprint. I've watched the movie many times and just noticed it because I was always looking at the goo.

@vovVile No, It is explained in the film that Weyland Yutani are NOT the Government anymore... They are just a Business, and they would have to adhere to the same safety protocols as everyone else, but he could sneak past the Embryos if the Victims were in Hypersleep... As outwardly, there are no external signs of infection. Weyland Yutani have Government Contracts and Government backers, but NOT everyone in Government supports them! I am shocked though that we see what happened with teh Alien Queen and NO ONE ever considers the FIRST DROPSHIP... We see it land briefly to release the APC, and then fly away... My Guess has always been it returned to teh Sulaco as Ferro and Spunkmyer play NO FURTHER ROLE until the call for Evac... And there would have to be someone on board the Sulaco if teh call came from teh Marines to say "Game Over Man! Launch the Nukes! We are NOT going to make it!" - The Payload on the Sulaco cannot launch itself! If the Alien Queen can stow itself so fast, Why not a Pretorian? Bear in mind that also with teh filming limitations, We never get a full view of teh back of the Dropship - It is shrouded in Mist as it takes off... Of course this is mere theory, but that would then explain how an Alien got on board the Dropship too! IT NEVER LANDED on LV-426 directly... So how did it get on board and kill Ferro and Spunkmyer? Maybe teh same way teh Queen did, and due to its smaller size (Though still larger than a Normal Xenomorph), It would find the task far easier!

By now we have the main Alien series canon, Aliens expanded universe canon, Alien VS Predator canon (which is self-contradictory in reference to Predator movies), Scott's-alcoholic-senile-rambling-canon, Scott's-expanded-universe-trying-to-fix-senile-rambling-canon and a ton of loose stories in various media which can take part in whatever story canon due to a lack of details. And let's not even begin the topic of "Is Alien 1 deleted egg transformation scene" canon. I absolutely love the movies but the narrative between them is an absolute mess which begun the moment studio execs had no idea what to do with Alien 3 and pushed the movie through a milion makeovers. It only went downhill from there. At least Ressurection was funny.

The problem with the egg and facehugger being placed on board the ship by Bishop there is a major error with this theory.... Seeing how aggressive facehuggers are and the eggs seem to activate when Humans are around (as seen in the queen's lair) they would of been attacked earlier in the film. Also how could it be activated while they were all in cryo sleep Bishop was in no fit state to do much. At what point could of Bishop collected the egg? As the time for him to do all that seems impossible seeing he had to remote control the dropship from the main ship remotely.... It's just bad writing lol

I absolutely believe that the Xenos have eyes & that they are located in that "skull" in it's "forehead" & we just can't see the eyes under there. But I also believe that they may not see as we do. The blurriness that Covenant suggested was one of very few original adds to the franchise that was appealing. Either way, I think the adult Xeno sees the world like sharks do. Sharks have eyes but they far more uses senses, electrosenses, to detect & read what exists around them under water. Xenos are highly adaptable in any known environment, including under water & even in outer space. They move just as well regardless where they are & regardless of temperature or pressure (I know too much pressure will of course kill them). And the many games have also suggested throughout the years that they sense movements nearby, just like sharks. This could also explain why the Xenos are so good at stalking & finding their victims no matter their angle of approach. I think the Xenos function like sharks, or like bats as well. We also know they seem to have very good hearing, Alien Isolation proves this better than any other entry. But is that actual hearing, though? Or another sense? Sound vibrates, after all. Turn on a speaker loud enough & put your hand against it & even we can feel the vibrations generated. The point is that we have no clue how the aliens sees, or hears, we just know that they do & extraordinary well. And I truly hope it is never explained. Let's keep something mysterious about them. And it leaves us with the fun to speculate.

Question 4; The queen does not need an ovipositor to lay eggs. That organic mechanism is used for placement of the eggs. It's basically to keep her from having to squat, lay an egg, then move over 5 feet over and over. So, yes, she did lay the egg on the sulaco. You didn't see it because it was gestating, not being carried like a football.

For question 4,i think its a little self explanatory. In expanded universe and colonial marines,its said that the chestburster DOES attach itself to the main organs of the chest cavity and extracts nutrients/blood from the host to grow. Androids dont have internal or vital organs and their blood isnt exactly like a humans,so the chest burster wouldn't really stick. A better question is the up in the air debate on how the facehugger works. Does it actually insert an egg into the chest region or does it shoot down specialized tumors that grow into the chestburster? It makes more sense to say the facehugger would avoid or ignore an android since it's biology isn't suitable or viable for an attack.

I'm an alien die hard and nerd. I own Prometheus covenant, alien, aliens all steel book edition with loads of extras. Prometheus, covenant, alien and aliens all link up perfectly from a story perspective... watching the bonus material really answers all questions. There are very little mistakes and plot holes within these films, only after Alien 3 do things not make sense. But Ridley Scott has stated more than once than basically alien and aliens are the only thing he considers Canon to Prometheus and covenant

Just for the record Prometheus took place on Moon LV-223 and the movie Alien/Aliens took place on Planet/Moon LV-426. So it is quite possible the original space jockey was sitting there for thousands of years and fossilized.

The queen could've had an egg still in her. Delivered it and stashed it. The egg was in the corner ceiling plastered there with their "alien glue" holding it up. I dont think Bishop got to some "alien glue" and plastered the egg in the corner. If he did, we would see the sticky evidence on him. I believe the queen did it.

I have heard that Bishop excuse about the egg on the Sulaco before, but it doesn't cut it. Retrieving an egg would still potentially put people in danger, so if he did have those behavioral inhibitors, that would have contradicted those. He could have still just flown off with Hicks after getting the egg if he could violate those inhibitors. The egg was on the Sulaco, not the Dropship, & when Ripley, Newt & Bishop get off, that is immediately after arriving back. There is no way Bishop could have placed the egg anywhere else, especially without Ripley noticing. Fans can try all they want, but the fact is that the egg on the Sulaco was a lazy contrived plot hole to bring Ripley back. Cameron intended Bishop to be good all along. Retroactively trying to attribute sinister motives to him doesn't work. With regards to the inconsistencies with Ridley Hack's prequels & the original films, its just Scott being a pretentious hack. The reason the engineers were generic pale white guys instead of weird alien creatures is because Scott saw the success Avatar was having & wanted a piece of the pie, so he made his own humanoid creatures instead. I remember when these prequels were initially announced, but then it was later announced they would instead be just set in the same world. And Avatar came out. It was the return to science fiction for Cameron. Major use of 3D. Its main characters were tall humanoid creatures. All of which were in Prometheus. I find it astonishing that there are people that still claim Ridley Scott is superior to James Cameron, even after garbage like Hannibal, & his Alien prequels. Not to mention other worthless crap like that Exodus movie.

The only possible explanation for Alien 3 is that it (and hence Resurrection) are Ripley/Newt's nightmare in hyper-sleep before they wake up safely on Earth. I always took it that the Engineers are not all dead, one of their ships takes off after David and his creations and wipes them out (Resurrection states the bugs are all but destroyed) but the space jockey is infected. The suit looks different because it is a more advanced model or some form of battle armour.

Also with expanded universe material, that connects Prometheus and the later Aliens franchise, the Engineers were in the process of Civil War. In the beginning of Prometheus, the Engineer ship is a circular shaped ship, not the most seen horse shoe shape. In Aliens: Colonial Marines being still canon, shows that during the mission where you make your way through the Engineer ship on LV-426, in the pilots room, through a sequence, a hologram will show that same Circular Engineer ship fighting a Horse Shoe Engineer ship, obviously the Horse Shoe lost and crashed on LV-426 and ties in with that skeleton being thousands of not millions of years old by the point of the Nostromo crew finding it. Again the start of Prometheus shows Earth in it's primordial state with an Engineer "seeding" Earth. Maybe those of the Circular ships were for spreading or creating species that could combat the Xenomorphs of Horse Shoe ship Engineers. But that's just a theory......a Xeno theory!

Question 3: Wopudl a Facehugger affect and Android? There is a Canonical Answer and it is found in Allen Dean Foster's Novelisation of Aliens... And extra part is added that was never filmed for the final movie but was scripted where Bishop is making his way to remote Pilot the Dropship... In teh tight Pipes he was sealed into... When at a Junction, A Xenomorph passes in front of him, I wish I had teh novel here now to directly quote it but I will paraphrase here as it details how "Bishop Froze, Androids do not feel fear but the pulses of electricity swirling through his body could easily be interpreted as such, The Creature, even turned to face Bishop before it hissed and sped away..." So, In an Original Script - Xenomorphs CAN tell a difference between a Living Creature and an Android, and they wish to infect Living Hosts! So NO - A facehugger will NOT affect an Android. EDIT: Actually, There is another explanation as to how the Egg got on the ship - Something no one ever thinks back to... Ferro and Spunkmyer... They drop the Marines at teh colony, and more or less immediately take back off... We never see whereabouts they go. But it is possible and feasible that they would have returned to the Sulaco at some point between contacts to pick up further supplies once the Marines has secured the Complex... And we also know that Spunkmeyer on jumping back into the Dropship when the call comes for an Evac puts his hand in some kind of Goo... In other words, As they landed, And Alien got on board teh Drop Ship, Stayed hidden... And from there... Planted Eggs on the Sulaco! Now the only stumbling point here is that the outside when Spunkmyer boards the Dropship looks like they are still Planetside... But that does not figure when you think about it as they play no other role throughout the movie, They stay with the Drop Ship at all times! If they were Planetside - Surely they would have got word sooner that things had gone to shit? I believe Spunkmeyer and Ferro could have inadvertently picked up an Alien in the Dropships Landing Wells, in the same way the Alien Queen Stowed away at the end of the film... Maybe a Pretorian, which can and DO carry eggs... But cannot lay them! A Single Pretorian can carry up to two Eggs, including one for a Queen Facehugger... Once the Dropship returned to the Sulaco, It made its way out... Dropped it cargo before slipping back with an aim to Cocoon Ferro and Spunkmyer but instead the Dropship launched once more and it attacked!

Regarding Androids: I think it depends how androids are constructed. When Bishop gets cut, he bleeds liquid. What is it? It's a bit of a stretch but it could be that androids are biomechanical. This would help them blend in better - some of them are robotic and some of them is human. So I think it's possible...but it's a stretch.

Sadly, the retcon by Ridley Scott with his recent 'prequels' really did so much damage to the ALIEN franchise! Countless people now think David created the 'xenomorphs' - which is in reality, is incorrect as the xenomorphs have been engineered thousands of years before the 'prequel' time-line and that's established in films, books, comic books and games for 40 years!

We still don’t have a perfect match to the original alien, it had some bio mechanical aspects, like chrome teeth. I thought that was the next step alien, android hybrid. It seemed that David thought highly of himself and he wanted to create something of himself, like humans do. So he creates a perfect being, impregnates either himself or another android then gives birth to his “child”

I believe you're wrong about Bishop and the egg. He gets ripped apart as soon as they land on the Sulaco. When would he have time to get the egg off without anyone noticing, and even if he did, why would he stick it upside down in a corner somewhere and not in some sort of capsule?
@Imylover
@Imylover Жыл бұрын
Even if it is "popular" & the least illogical to put the blame on Bishop for how the egg ended up on the Sulaco for Alien 3 it still makes no sense at all that he is responsible. And this is why. First; HOW did he get it? And from where? The only known places on LV-426 where eggs are located is the Derelict far away from the colony & also inside the nest itself at the Processing Station. And, with both locations in mind, either makes it possible for Bishop to do this. Why? Here's the million dollar question that very much in my eyes makes Bishop innocent of this crime. Where would he find the TIME to do this? He can't have done it prior to Ripley & Hicks arriving, Bishop is still remotely flying the drop ship then. He would have to have been on board to get to either location to collect the egg. Once Ripley goes after Newt, Bishop has 15 minutes only to do this! Fifteen minutes!!! The derelict ship, even if now a known location on this planet, is too far off from the colony for Bishop to fly over there, get inside & get an egg, carry it & hide it safely on board, or better yet fly it up to the Sulaco first, & then fly back down to get Ripley & Newt. If he had had at least an hour I could have believed this theory but he has 15 minutes, less actually since he shows up roughly a minute before the explosion. So, nope, can't be the derelict. But what about the nest at the Processing Station, it is right there where he drops of Ripley! Yeah, & that is also the thing. How would Bishop be able to follow Ripley down into the nest without her ever noticing him following her? She is paying a LOT of attention to her surroundings there already as it is. And, as we all know, she & Newt kind of accidentally ends up in the egg chamber itself. Did any of you see Bishop during this scene, sneaking an egg out without any of the girls noticing? Me neither. And I have surely seen Aliens at least 200 times in my life thus far. And even if I give this a little benefit of the doubt & "allow" Bishop to find an egg at some other chamber within the nest, the Xenos are known for carrying & placing eggs near their captured victims within their nests to make impregnation easier, Bishop would still need time to get out with an egg before Ripley & Newt exit, take off & then show up minutes later to save them. And he would have been forced to take that same long elevator ride up & down as Ripley & Newt (& the Queen!) did. I'm sorry, but tops 15 minutes is simply not enough time for Bishop to do this. And he would have had to run carrying that large egg. Even for an android, it would maybe not be heavy but still slow him down. The lack of time is what clears Bishop's name for me. But there is more, in terms of what Jim Cameron intended with Bishop in the first place. It is perfectly clear that Bishop plays a lot on the nostalgia of the first film, Ripley herself falls for this red herring. ONLY because Bishop is an android working for the same company she just assumes that he will be just as Ash. But once you see Aliens start to finish Bishop ends up as a hero, or a good android all along. If Bishop is indeed guilty for bringing that egg on board behind Ripley's back in less time than is physically possible, then the character arc for Bishop in this film makes no sense. If he is the same as Ash, why hide the fact from the audience? And, far more importantly, just seconds prior to Bishop being attacked & ripped apart by the Queen he is told by Ripley that he did OK. Ripley started off having very negative opinions about Bishop just because of her bad experiences with Ash & now she has realized that she was being prejudice. Bishop's actions, the ones known to her & to the audience, has shown us he is the opposite of Ash. If Bishop is in fact evil, or collected that egg for whatever reasons, Ripley accepting him &, in a way, apologizing to him for being so mean & rude to him earlier would turn her into a naive idiot! And Ripley would not be the only one, we ALL would be naive idiots! And I know James Cameron's body of work more than well enough that making Ripley & us naive idiots would never be on his list, not even last on it. Cameron would never give us such a story where the intent was for Bishop to be evil. Cameron has also openly stated many times that even if he accepts Alien 3 for what it is, Fincher mostly, he has also stated that Alien 3 is not at all what he had wanted the sequel to Aliens to be. Cameron had never made Alien 3 the way it is. That means not just killing off both Hicks & Newt during opening credits & between the lines, he had never made Bishop into a villain either. Because it would totally remove the emotional impact in Aliens. When Bishop is ripped apart we are, thanks to Ripley's acceptance just prior, meant to feel the deepest of sympathy for Bishop. He must be an innocent victim, not someone who deserves it like Burke. We were only meant to think Bishop could be bad because Ripley thinks at first that he is. The twist that makes sense is that Ripley is wrong about her assumption, since she judges him before she knows him, based entirely on what he is & now who he is. I know that Bishop is the only theory that comes closest to making sense. But, considering how Aliens tells itself it's not possible at all in any way. Bishop had only 15 minutes tops to play with. Unless he is Superman or the Flash he would not have time to get the egg. And Cameron is determined, without budging, to tell all his films as realistically he can within the laws of physics, no matter how much sci-fi & fantasy it otherwise is about. It's not physically possible for Bishop to have gotten that egg within that short a time. And it would totally destroy Cameron's very emotional twist with Bishop's character arc. Bishop is there to play with our memory of Ash, reminding us of the first film. Bishop is a homage, one of many, to Alien, but also evolving it into it's own thing. All of that would be destroyed if Bishop is guilty of this + that it would make Ripley herself stupid. Or far too naive for us to accept. No, everyone. No matter how we twist & turn on all these theories, there is nothing within the actual plot of the Alien franchise that can ever explain how that egg ended up on the Sulaco. The only & real answer lies, regrettably, not within the story itself, as it should be. The chaos of making Alien 3 is the only & true answer. The egg is there because they needed an excuse for Alien 3 to happen. The guilty ones that put the egg there are the writers & producers of Alien 3. No actual character or event of any kind within the story itself. None given to us. The closest, I guess, is the video game of Colonial Marines, & that being the extra expansion that does provide an answer. And even if Fox regards those games as canon such a vital plot point should not be added outside of the films decades after the fact. And not many like Colonial Marines anyway. There is an old saying; "The butler did it" & Bishop could symbolically be the butler of the Sulaco crew if we are being silly. But this time the butler would have had no time to prepare this egg. The egg exists because of morons that can't decide what story to tell & know even less how to tie it properly to the story they already had. Newt & Hicks, the entire Alien franchise actually, fell victim to this mess. Bishop was an innocent victim already, don't turn him into a villain he was never supposed to be according to his creator, not Weyland Yutani but his real creator, Jim Cameron.

There's every chance the Queen would have an emergency, internal egg (likely another queen) in case of losing the hive.
Жыл бұрын
I always assumed microscopic eggs form inside the queen’s body. From there, they move into the ovipositor where they grow and she places them. She ripped away from her ovipositor, so her ass is dripping acidic blood and ovipositor goop, which is likely filled with tiny eggs. A small puddle of this acid & egg-filled goop drips out at some point during the final fight, which melts through the floor, and an egg grows on the ceiling below. Bishop is innocent! (Even if he did grab an egg, why would he mount it on the ceiling unless he was deliberately mounting it above their cryotubes to infect them?)

I agree to an extent. Based on Josh's idea that there is a royal facehugger... I postulate that a queen produces regular eggs in the egg sac but also produces a "royal egg" that only emerges when the egg sack is removed/destroyed. Likely because if the egg sack is destroyed it's likely that the hive is in danger/the queen replaced. So the queen got on board the Sullaco, popped it's royal egg since it was the last of it's hive, died, then later the egg hatches and facehugger royale goes on the hunt. It would make sense it would not hatch right away... It wants to make sure the danger has passed.

I DON'T think the whole mission of the Nostromo was to get the Xenomorph. I think they just happened to be the closest ship in the area when the alien becon was discovered. The "company" wanted to be the 1st to get this possible alien tech & since it takes years to travel this far out- they used the only resources they had to retrieve it-

So for number 4, how the facehugger could get on the ship, it very well could have been the queen. After all, the queen made her way on the ship, and if they didn't notice that, maybe they also didn't notice a facehugger. Also queens make eggs from their bodies. It's not inconceivable that she could have made one while on the ship, and we just never saw the egg hatch.
