As for the cassette tape in Choose or Die. In the UK (where the film is set) Games would be released on cassette tape all though the 80's and into the early 90s, long after the first Nightmate on Elm Street was released. So the Robert Englund phone call does make sense.

Glad to see Uncanny Annie mentioned, I liked that one. I miss Hulus whole "horror movie a month" thing, it was fun while it lasted. Stay Alive kinda annoys me, because as someone from New Orleans, we actually HAD a crazy plantation owning psycho woman who tortured and murdered people and allegedly haunts places, and they didn't use her. Why use Bathory when Delphine Lalaurie was RIGHT THERE! That being said, I appreciate the movie some because it was (IIRC) the last movie shot in Pre-Katrina New Orleans. At least some of the cast actually did help post-K, and worked in relief efforts (I know Sophia Bush did, I think some of the others did as well)

Not quite an evil board game, but Ready or Not was close. I'm more shocked that you didn't include Brainscan in this list - it's probably my all-time favorite 'game gone wrong' movie. I do think you were stretching like hell to get this definition of 'Hellraiser rip-offs', but I'm really not sure how else you could define them. I mean, if you watch the original, not even the Hellraiser sequels really qualify, since the Ceonbites went from 'demeons to some, angels to others' to straight up monsters pretty fast.

I love Stay Alive! This video was so much fun. A couple more obscure ones worth mentioning, for those interested in the evil games sort of sub genre: Kill Theory, from 2009, which is similar to Game of Death but is more centered around the players having to kill each other. And a really obscure one that I don’t know anyone else who’s seen it lol called The Black Waters of Echo’s Pond, also from 2009, which is heavy on the evil game concept, and is cheesy fun (and features Mircea Monroe, which was enough to get me to watch it, despite the overly wordy title lol) I enjoy these movie rip-offs lists a bunch!
