Nice to see the Mummy Theme Park. I have it on DVD but I really can not remember where I bought it at though. I would also like to put forward 'The Pyramid' (2014). No Mummy but, the scary being in Anubis the jackal.. awesome and enjoyable.

May I suggest Bubba Ho-Tep as a palate cleanser? It at least has a mummy in it, even if the word doesn't appear in the title. Also, there's a parallel to this and your mermaidless mermaid film list. Perhaps you could do a list of "least appearing despite the title"?

@@LABOUMDECADANCE yes - if you've not seen it there's an explanation in the film as to why JFK calls him "Bubba". I feel a bit sorry for the historical Imhotep, because he gets forgotten in favour of the villainous mummies.

The first movie you covered, "Mummy Dearest," was recently featured on an episode of "Good Bad or Bad Bad," a review series airing right here on KZbin. Apparently the actress playing the daughter character has a foreign accent and they decided to dub her voice with that of another performer in post-production, which explains why the dialogue doesn't match up with her lip movements.

I've always tried to figure out what is unique about mummies, compared to other zombies. The solution I came up with was Mummy's are a result of a curse compared to others that are the result of magical means or scientific.

but curses are magic?

I think mummies also tend to come in singles, rather than multiples like zombies do, and movies spend more time than their backstories.
@movietimelines2 жыл бұрын
that's an interesting question, and yeah, i would group them as similar to zombies, but i think they're distinguished by their nature of creation with the whole burial ritual. like, the removal of the organs, wrapping of the bandages, etc....
@nerdygoth69052 жыл бұрын
@@movietimelines l thought of this when they kept stealing the necklaces; apparently there were amulets layered throughout the bandages, and in the Victorian age it was fashionable to have unwrapping parties. (Thanks to a Call of Cthulhu expansion for that bit of knowledge. I think).

Mummies tend to have consciousness & desires beyond just eating. Also they don’t have organs & often times have an additional suite of powers.

Hey Josh, that Mummy Costume in Rose of the Mummy and Mummy Reborn comes up in ANOTHER ITN British horror film. Conjuring the Genie, Sarah Cohen plays a girl who wishes to get pregnant. Dude! People probably think your job is easy, but they don't take into account what you have to put into your brain on a daily basis. Nuthin worse than a mummy movie with no mummy in it. That's just plain old cheating on the film's part. And I got to say I was not inspired to watch any of those movies, with the exception of that last one. Might give that a go. I'm 52 now it is and find the mummy type movie TimeWalker a waste of time ironically to say. It had a Mummy type character in it but the movie wasn't all that good and it even had a cliffhanger ending. As to say it would have had a sequel. But yeah subjectively I thought it was a terrible movie , even though I did like the mummy type characters Look. But it was a little too short and it's definitely an odd weak , to me barely heard of and silly movie from the '80s. A 2.5 Out Of A Booshty Ten.
