Ascension5dEarth the sheepshead actually put a few holes in the floor. We kept fishing and patched it up when we got back. With these inflatables they definitely get holes, kinda comes with the territory. But patching them up is really easy.

What outboard do you have on this? What kind of speeds are you seeing?

I am currently just running a 75 lb thrust trolling motor set-up on it. But people put 6 hp and up to 9.9 hp motors on it. I had a little 1.9 hp on it in this video and was getting like 7 mph.

djgruv it’s a super fun ride to take out friends and family. It’s inflatable so it does get holes. But patching it up is super easy and quick.

They run them offshore all the time on the Northeast coast. I imagine it will be a wet ride out. It's a great multi person fishing platform, really firm and stable.

@@freshsaltyfries5078 I think it's definitely worth it, if you can't tow around and store a two person boat easily. I've dropped some fish on the gunnel and their fins poked it. But the repairs are pretty easy and you can take care of it when you're back home. The material self seals so it slows down the leak. Even with a little leak, it could take days before you notice that it's a little softer.

Marcus oysters and barnacles will puncture it. But it would take a week to fully deflate. Patching it takes 10 minutes and really easy though. Still running it man and loving it. Got it all set up with just a trolling motor now that I steer with my feet while standing in the cooler. 😂😂👊

Chris O. It’s mostly barnacles and oyster I worry about. It’s pretty tough material tough and it takes forever to actually drain out when there is a leak. It’s more like a slow leak on a tire rather than a balloon popping. 😂😂😂

G'day from Down Under/Australia, Rex Del Rey. I was thinking of purchasing a FishSkiff16 for the lakes we have over here in NSW, Australia. I just wanted to ask about your experience with punctures of the FishSkiff16: Does it puncture easily, or does it take very sharp objects (like oysters or barnacles, aforementioned) to leave a lasting impact on the inflatable? My concern is that if I am trolling along (with the 10hp I plan to place on it), it might come into contact with a submerged tree branch, or rock, then...hisssssssssss!!! I did read the comments about how it takes a very long time for a puncture to deflate the vessel, and that it can be easily repaired in 15 mins. But, I was just curious about how easily the craft punctures. Thanks for your reply, Ta

Hi Dimitri. Best rule of thumb is that anything that can puncture your skin or cut you can puncture an inflatable. I use it in the most extreme location with barnacles on dock pilings and oyster beds. I avoid areas with oyster beds and the side bumpers keep the barnacles from making contact. But usually sharp razor like things will puncture it, or even fish with sharp fins so you will not want to be slamming fish on the deck. I usually place the fish on the cooler when handling. I don’t think a rock or tree branch will do much damage, you will probably just bounce off of it.

@@ReXDeLReY, thanks for your reply. I think that rule of thumb (if it can puncture your skin then it can puncture an inflatable) is a great rule to apply to this type of fishing. Yeah, I will not be taking it anywhere that oysters or barnacles thrive. I'll only be using it in freshwater lakes, where trees or boulders pepper the surrounds. These are my main concerns. This craft seems like a wise idea because it is economical and efficient - saves trailer money, and I can travel faster in the car than if a boat and trailer were attached at the rear. I think the idea about a cooler, for fish to rest upon when in the skiff, is a wise idea. I was thinking that if I had this skiff, I would either troll to shore (with my minn kota) and release the fish while still in the water, which is what some do over here when fishing for Murray Cod in lakes/rivers. Or opting for a cooler to rest the spiny fish upon when in the skiff. Do you find that all the nuts and bolts holding pieces of it together, remain firmly in place? Or do they require constant tightening on each trip? Ta mate

@@dimitrimurraytrout8052 it’s great for all those reasons you mentioned. I would invest in a good automatic pump. Takes about 20 minutes to get it to inflated. Definitely recommend a cooler to use as a seat and standing platform. They have metal loops on the floor to properly secure it down.

I've had mine for 4 years. Use it alot. Never had a puncture. I fish mostly really thin watered rivers.
