From the early 2000s on up, Rey was definitely one of my favs, if not my definite favorite from that era of wrestling. This guy was in ECW, WCW, and WWE and I knew about how early it was for him. He's got the charisma and the high flying persona that makes him such a loveable and memorable wrestling individual. I wish him all the best on his future endeavors and hope I see him in the Hall Of Fame sometime in the future. YOU ROCK REY!!!!!

I believe it was said that during rey setting him up for the 619 he hit the ropes wrong and had a heart attack but not 100% on that

+Marth It was a freak accident. Perro went into the match with a serious neck injury and once he went down to the second rope, it became worse. I think he went into a coma and had a heart attack at the same time.

+MindNumbingInc I see, that's why WWE has its health and wellness policy, to prevent this kind of stuff from happening to them. Basically Perro should've been looked at and sidelined, otherwise he might still be alive today.

Marth Yeah but he refused to not wrestle. Many wrestlers go into matches hurt and injured. Kurt is a prime example of wrestling with a broken neck. After his WM match with Lesnar, backstage he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. I think from there the neck surgery happened. Perro's case was an unseen freak accident as in ring deaths are RARE - the last person to die in the ring was Owen Hart from his fall. The medical staff was busy attending others that night who were injured in their matches and if he had received medical attention sooner he might of been saved as well. Especially if the match stopped but that doesn't happen in most cases, like when King had his heart attack on commentary. Commentary stopped but the in ring action didn't.
